I was practically bouncing in my seat with anxiety. The doctor was coming and he was going to either confirm, or deny my release into the real world.
I'd have to go back to school in a week, but I had no clue how I was going to write because I am, or was, right handed.
There were three loud knocks at the door that jolted me into reality.
"Come in," my mom said.
The doctor was young, probably around 29 with blonde hair and strange midnight blue eyes.
"Who do we have here? Oh, yes, Ms. Triniti, how are you doing today?" He asked with a twinge of pleasure in his eyes.
"Fine," I grumbled. How can you possibly be good when you don't have a right hand?
"Good, good. I'm here to release you, you may go home!" He said with so much enthusiasm, I wanted to throw up.
My mom gave me a hug as the doctor walked out.
"You can go home," tears were rolling down her cheeks at this point, "My baby is going home."

My mom and dad signed some release forms and then we were on our way.
We arrived at home and I went upstairs to my bedroom. The floor was decorated with clothes and the bed was unmade but I didn't care, I plopped down on my pillows and sobbed. Everyone at school would look at me weird and I wouldn't be able to play basketball or volleyball anymore.
My mom knocked on the door, "Are you ok? Caleb came to see you."
"Yes, tell him I'll be right there," I quickly dried up my tears and walked downstairs to see Caleb. He had his usual basketball shorts and t-shirt on and looked adorable.
"Hey," he smiled at me.
"Hi, what brings you here?" I asked.
"I brought you these," he pulled out a bouquet of roses. "As a get well soon, type of thing." He blushed
I walked over to him and reached out to take them, my mom coughed. I sighed.
"Want me to help you take them to your room?" He asked, noticing my disappointment.
"Sure," I replied, smiling weakly.

He walked me up to my room then went downstairs to get a vase. He came back with a gorgeous purple and grey vase with designs around the lip.
"This is beautiful," I gasped. He just smiled at me.
Caleb didn't know that I had a crush on him. I was too afraid that we wouldn't be as close friends if I told him, I couldn't risk losing him.
"I'll go put water in it," I offered, then I attempted to take it from him but he snatched it away.
"Let me do it," he said, then went to get water.
I sat there on the bed, like a child, waiting for him to come back. About 5 minutes later he walked in with an arranged bouquet of flowers in the beautiful vase. He set them on my night stand.
"So you can remember me before you go to sleep each night," he has always had a way with words. He gave me a hug, then left for the day.
He smiled and waved at me through the window, then he got in his car and drove off.
That was when I saw the robbers hiding in my bushes, staring directly at me.
There was only one thought in my mind.
Run.
