Chapter 4
(Y/N)'s POV
The words didn't leave me.
They didn't fade.
They didn't soften.
They stayed exactly where they were, repeating over and over in my mind as if my thoughts refused to move past them.
"...That's not funny."
I stood there, frozen in place, staring at him as if something might change if I just waited long enough. As if he would suddenly look at me differently—like he used to. Like I mattered.
But he didn't.
He didn't even try.
"...Sehun... I'm your wife..." I said again, my voice quieter this time, weaker, as if repeating it might somehow make it more real for him.
But instead of recognition—
There was only irritation.
A small frown formed on his face, his brows pulling together as he looked at me like I was something unfamiliar. Something he didn't understand. Something he didn't want there.
"Miss," the doctor said gently from beside me, his tone careful, almost apologetic, "I think you should step outside for now. Let him rest. We'll talk after I'm done with him."
For a moment, I didn't respond.
I couldn't.
Because leaving felt wrong.
Because staying felt impossible.
But in the end—
I nodded.
Slowly.
And stepped back.
Each step felt heavier than the last, as if something inside me was resisting the distance growing between us. When I reached the door, I hesitated for just a second longer before finally stepping out into the hallway.
The door closed behind me with a soft sound.
And just like that—
I was no longer part of that room.
The hallway felt colder than before.
Quieter.
Empty in a way that didn't feel comfortable.
I lowered myself into one of the chairs outside the ward, my hands resting in my lap, fingers loosely intertwined as I stared ahead without really seeing anything. My thoughts kept circling back, replaying everything that had just happened, every word, every expression, every look he gave me.
None of it felt real.
And yet—
It was.
Sehun's POV
The room felt strange.
Unfamiliar.
Even though I knew I was supposed to be here.
The doctor's voice reached me, asking questions—simple ones at first. My name. Basic things. Things I could answer without thinking.
But there were gaps.
Too many gaps.
"What do you remember?" he asked.
I frowned slightly, trying to focus, but everything felt... disconnected.
