Mark stands at the left door, Nate at the right. Matt hikes himself up onto the second desk and guards the vent. Sean moves to the back of the room and puts on the headphones. He is in charge of listening for Anti and any other audio cues that may be vital. You station yourself at the desk and pull up the monitor. The camera feed is mainly black and white, with a little muted colour.
The clock displays 12:00 am in bright white letters and numbers. The power bar beneath it shows 99%. The first percent has already been used up by the lights. You stare at the screen for a few seconds, and switch between rooms, trying to locate either virus.
After you find them, you quickly close the monitor and glance at the displays on the wall. 12:15 am. 95%. Every now and then, Nate and Mark glance down the hall, just in case you missed something. Sean focuses extremely hard on the noises he's hearing through the headphones.
"Check the vent," he says suddenly. Matt obeys. Sure enough, he sees green glowing eyes at the end of the dark vent. Letting out a small gasp, he hits the button that closes the vent. "Did you hear him?" Matt asks? Sean nods. Another giggle is audible, this time you could all hear it.
Matt opens the vent again, and sees that Anti has disappeared. You check the cameras again; Natemare has moved. He's only two rooms away now. Switching the cameras, you see something terrifying, but only for a moment. You turn to the guys.
"I thought they said Anti wouldn't be visable on the cameras!" You exclaim. Mark stares at you. "He's not supposed to be," he comments. "I only saw him for a second, then he disappeared," you say. You're very confused. "Maybe you hallucinated," Matt suggests. "Maybe," you admit, turning back to the monitor, which you accidentally left up.
"Left door!" You call out. Dark is sitting dangerously close to the door, which Mark closes in the nick of time. 1:00 am. 77%.
"Can't believe that they're back, am I going mad?" Mark says. You ignore this seemingly random outburst and search for Natemare on the cameras. Dark is gone, and Mark opens the door again. "One mistake's all it takes and this may go bad!" Nate exclaims. You search through the feeds, trying to locate the viruses. Neither are in the halls outside the doors.
"No one's there," you say. Matt looks down the vent. "No one's there," he comments. Sean presses the headphones against his ears. "No one's--" he begins, but is cut off by someone mockingly asking, "Is somebody there?" Its Anti. "Right door!" Sean calls. Nate presses the button and the door slams shut.
Anti laughs, signaling his departure from the door. Nate cautiously opens the door again, and you see that has indeed left. "I think I'm detecting some patterns here," Mark comments. You and Matt both nod in agreement. "So am I," you add, glancing at the wall. 2:02 am. 59%.
"Four more hours, now we need to stall," Matt points out. You shift through the cameras quickly, only stopping when you see Dark at the end of the hall. "Why's that dirtbag sneaking down the hall?" You mutter. Nate seems to have heard you, and pokes his head out to check down the hall. "No one's there," he says.
Mark decides he should probably check too. He gasps and rushes back in with a terrified look on his face. He slams his fist down on the door button. "Someone's there!" He forces out. No kidding. Nervous, you put the monitor down, trying not to waste anymore power.
"I'll fill the void with noise," Anti's voice rings out, loud and clear, "just focus on me!"
"Right door!" Sean calls. Even you knew that's where it came from. You stand up for a second. "My legs are cramped," you say. "Switch with me," Mark suggests. You walk toward his door, stretching out your sore legs in the process. You glance upward. 3:14 am. 40%.
You hear a rustling outside. "(Y/n)," Mark warns as he looks at the camera. You know exactly what to do. Slamming the door shut, you lean on the cold metal, listening for anything. Sure enough, you hear something approach the door right where you are and brush up against it.
"Something's breathing just outside the door!" You call. Mark stands as Nate and Matt look over. "Hey its me, I swear we've met before!" A voice from the other side yells. You look at Nate, who stares. Obviously, you c8uld tell that it was Natemare on the other side.
Mark runs over and calls back to the virus, "I don't care!" You run back to the desk and watch Sean for any clues. "No one's there," he admits, confused. "Where'd Anti go?" You ask. "He's in there!" Matt responds and shuts the vent. 4:51 am. 27%
"I don't think we're going to make it!" You cry. "We have to!" Sean exclaims. You hear a thump from the vent, which usually means it's safe to open again. But with one look at the vent camera, you realize that it's not the case. "Don't open it!" You call. "What?" Matt and Nate ask at the same time. "Dark's in there," you elaborate.
Suddenly, Mark cries out and shuts the door. But the virus on the other side is not content and begins kicking and banging on the door. You get up and run to his aid once again. Nate slams his door down as well, and the virus on his side begins trying to pull it up. Sean abandons his headset and rushes to help Nate.
Your heaart is racing and your vision is blurry. All you can think is that you have no time. You don't even realize that you're biting your lip, until it starts to bleed. The taste is unpleasant, but you feel like, if you tried to stop, yo wouldn't be able to ward off the viruses.
Then, all at once, a low hum is heard, the lights go out, and to your dismay, the doors begin to rise.
