We arrived at our new home. I had to admit, it was purple and purple is my favorite color. Plus, it looked pretty big. The moving truck came by a few seconds later. Sam and I got to pick our own rooms. And thank goodness the rooms had their own bathrooms in them. At dinner, Mom told me about the new high school that I was going to be attending. When I finished washing the dishes, she told to come took at the school's website. It was actually cool. "Ridgewood High School, sounds like something worth checking out," I said. Later that night, I skyped my friends and I told them all about how the new place didn't seem all that bad. "That's great to hear, Claire," said Hellen. "Thanks, I just wish I was still there with you guys. We've shared so many memories together," I pointed out. I was feeling a little tired, so I told my friends goodnight and closed my laptop. I crawled into bed and fell asleep.

In the morning, I was really excited. I jumped out of bed, took a 5 minute shower, dressed in my new school uniform, brushed my teeth, and went downstairs. The smell of pancakes, eggs, and bacon filled my nose as I walked toward the kitchen. "Morning, Mom," I said. She smiled, but didn't look up. I could tell she was focusing on making the pancakes perfect. "Morning, sweetie, how many pancakes do you want?", she asked. "Two, please." I sat down at the table as my mom put a plate of her delicious breakfast meal in front of me. I couldn't wait to dig in. "So, are ready for your first day of school. I heard that there's going to be a wonderful event happening after a few days." "Of course I am, mom, why wouldn't I be?", I replied as I stuffed a mouthful of pancakes in my mouth. She smiled again.

The school bus came after awhile and luckily my backpack and stuff we're all set. I kissed Mom and Sam goodbye. I also promised that I would call Dad from work as soon as I got home. When I got on the school bus, there were a lot of kids that looked like about my age or a year older. I asked every person that was in a seat if I could sit with them. Most of them just said, "no" or didn't say anything at all, which I could care less. As I got to the back, there was a girl with glasses and long red hair sitting in a seat. She looked up at me and smiled. Before I could even ask, she pulled my arm, so that I was sitting with her. I just smiled awkwardly. "You must be new to Ridgewood High School. I'm Hannah Brackets. It's nice to meet you!" she said as she held out her hand. I guess being a new student at a new school won't be as bad as I think it will be, I thought to myself. I smiled again and shook her hand. "Nice to meet you as well, Hannah, I'm Claire Cooper!"
