When I finished my meal I decided to look for Darcy more. But this time, I was going to arrange police. I saved some food for Darcy and walked to the police department.

"Excuse me, miss. This is not a place for hobos, this is police."-A policeman insulted me.

"I'm not a hobo, I have a problem..."-I was barely talking. The policeman walked me to his office and asked me a few questions.

"Thank you, Chloe. I will call someone from social services to help you."

"Okay, great! But please, find my life... Without her, my life has no meaning."

Policeman nodded and I left the station. I walked around the hood and looked around for Darcy. There was no clue that she have ever walked here. My life collapsed.

-------------------------

Few days passed by and I had to go to court again. I didn't have any money to pay for taxi so I was walking for two hours. I didn't have anything else to do because Darcy wasn't anywhere. I got to the court half an hour earlier and talked to the judge.

"Did you call Amber, your honor?"

"Yes, I have called her. She has to come today or she will end up in prison."

"I'm so afraid... Will I get any money from her? Because I am poor and I live in hotel. I left her when my younger sister ran from home."

The judge just looked through her papers and laughed.

"Babe, did you talk to social services?"

"Yes, but they can't find anyone who will adopt me because I am almost 18 and they gave me some money and paid my 'rent' in hotel so I can stay there few months, if I don't end up in jail."-I said still feeling scared. I talked to her for a while and she told me that she found me a part-time job. It was from her, besides the case. She is such a great person. I thanked and left her office. I sat in the bathroom and took out all the money I had left.

"10 pounds, 20, 40, 100..."-I was counting and smiling as long as I was reaching bigger sums of money.

"Thanks Amber for teaching me how to count money. More than three hundred pounds. It is enough for my needs..."

I walked outside the toilet, ready to face my future...
