My heart felt like it would split through my chest like a scene from a horror film, the muscles in my legs ached for relief and my breathing was hitched and fast. Most people hate this feeling but these symptoms drive me to run faster, to pick up the pace and push my body further and further. My feet hit the grassy floor quickly as i ran through a path that i had now memorized that led me through the woods near my campus. Not many people knew of its where-abouts as the beginning of the path is hidden by some shrubs and prickly bushes, you'd only know it was their if you had fallen through the bushes. Which is exactly how i found it. The scenery blurred around me as i wound through the woods, dodging past trees and logs. When i was growing up my parents never allowed me to travel in the woods because of the frequent siting of wolves, but my parents weren't here to tell me off.

I felt a bead of sweat drip from the bridge of my nose and onto my chest, my long brown hair itching my back is it swayed from my loose ponytail. The sun just rising made the landscape beautiful in the dawn with the last of the darkness being swept away by the light. The end of the pathway was clear in sight and as usual i sprint to the exit of the woods as the sun rises, as i run through a thin coverage of branches and leaves i exit my secret woods and enter the campus grounds just as the sun banishes all of the darkness, leaves falling off the branches as i emerge, startling birds.

I always thought to myself whenever this moment came in my routine if passers saw a sweaty girl leap out of the bushes what they would do or say. At the thought i laugh to myself as i slow the pace of my run to a slight jog as i turn into my campus heading to the dorms.

My room mate Yas slept like the dead so i didn't worry when i crept back into my room early in the mornings. I glanced over at Yas's bed seeing her cocooned in blankets with her mouth open slightly, i smile at how young she looks before i grab the essentials i need for my shower before walking into the bathroom. For a small university they had amazing living quarters, the rooms had enough space for two beds (one at each side of the room), two small bedside tables, two set of drawers and two work benches which Yas's and mine was normally piled with homework. The bathroom contained a large shower, a toilet and a sink. For my birthday Yas bought a large oval mirror and a small vanity for us both to share.

Peeling off my sports bra and leggings and then kicking off my joggers i looked myself up and down in the mirror. I wasn't checking myself out or seeing if i was fat or anything i was just seeing if i had changed at all. I did this every morning and every morning i looked the same, long brown hair, hazel eyes with long dark lashes, a small mouth, fit and tan body and same crescent shaped birthmark on my collarbone. I don't know why i did this but somewhere deep inside me i thought maybe i would change..?

Turning away from the mirror i jumped into the shower letting the hot water rinse away my sweat and feeling my aching muscles let out a sigh of relief as the water soothed them. Not worrying about body lotions i quickly shaved my legs and washed my hair making sure i didn't use all of the hot water.

After drying off i look at the time which reads 7:09am, putting my damp running clothes in the washing basket i pulled on some underwear and a long grey shirt before climbing into my bed setting my alarm for 9:00am. As i melted into my covers i fall asleep with ease, and dream of a grey wolf watching me as i run.
