(Chapter 4) Hellbent

Gray's POV

I was walking through the ruined city of Ebott. I don't know why I brought Kens with me. I thought silently to myself. I looked over at Kens. She was shaking. I held her hand.

"I know. It's scary once you see the gwavity of the situation. It reawy pulls on youw emotions." I said smiling at her. She gave me a faint smile.

"Where are we right now?" Kens asked looking at the crippled buildings and demolished homes.

"M-my... fiwst home. This is where I owiginawy wived. But something attacked the city..." I trailed off. Kens buried her her face into my chest when she heard an explosion. I hugged her affectionately.

"I'm scared..." Kens said starting to cry. I looked into her eyes with confidence.

"Don't wowwy. Fear is a superpower! You wun faster and become mowe awert when scawed." I smiled. Kens smiled back at me. We continued to walk forwards until we stood in front of a broken down science lab. I walked inside and and grabbed my secret stash of chocolate. I held out a few different flavors.

"Um... you want milk chocolate, dark chocolate, cookies 'n' creme, or white chocolate?" Kens grabbed the cookies 'n' creme candy bar. I took the dark chocolate candy bar. We tapped our candy bars together while saying 'clink'. We ate our chocolate in silence. As I ate my chocolate, I looked around Gaster's lab for soething useful. When I reached into a pile of debris, something started to pull me in. I started to cry out. Kens was there in a jiffy.

"What's going on?" Kens asked staring at the debris mount.

"It's... AGH!... Pulling me... AAAAAHHHH!... in! Help me!" I said crying out in desperation. Kens grabbed ahold of my right arm and started to pull the opposite way. Kens managed to get me pulled out. But we also pulled out whatever was pulling on me.

"Nik?! What are you doing here!?" Kens asked trying not to freak out. I noticed that Nik's face... was ripped off... the jaw was in tact, at least. It was the eye areas. I activated my magic and started to heal him. I healed him for about an hour. Then he started to move.
I handed Nik over to Kens. She held Nik tightly.

"I'll teleport you two home now." My eye glowed a bright purple. But before I teleported them, Nik tried to look at my general direction.

"Gray, y-you... you aren't mad, a-are y-ou?"Nik asked. I smiled gently.

"Nah. I'm not mad." I teleported them away.

"No. I'm not mad. IM FREAKING PISSED OFF! YOu MaDE a HeLl of A BAD misTAkE." I said trembling in anger.

Kens' POV

After the doctors did a full check on Nikolas, They asked a bunch of questions. I answered all of them honestly. It took less than five minutes and we were on the road. As mom drove us home she looked at us.

"What happened?" Mom asked calmly.

"I don't know... we found him like that." I then explained how we came across Nik. I cried most of the time.

"I see. And Gray is still at this place?" Mom asked. I nodded.

"What if that thing that did this to Nikolas is still there?" I asked. Mom didn't answer for a while. then she finally answered:

"I will go, my child."

Gray's POV

I kept walking through the ruined city. I stopped at a destroyed building. In the shadows, I saw the same smile from my dream.

"Listen. I-I... know there is good in... you. Your just trying to fight it. I welcome you with open arms!" I said. They stepped out of the shadows. I gasped.

"Hello, brother. This is quite the lovely reunion, isn't it?" They smiled at me. "How cute. You always did think there was good in every one. BUT NOT ME!" They said charging at me.  I ran away from what used to be my brother. When i turned a corner, Vesp was there.

"How rude to run away from a family reunion." I picked them up with my magic and slammed them into a wall. I turned another corner, this time, I saw Kens. She ran up to me and threw her arms around me. I then felt a blade go through my back. A single purple tear trickled down my cheek.

"Why...?" I said starting to lose my balance. They pushed me back, I landed on the ground with a hard thud. I saw Kens start to turn into Vesp.

"Because..." he snapped his fingers summoning a ginormous Gaster Blaster.

"In this world," they motioned their hand forward. The Gaster Blaster started to charge up. "ITS KILL OR BE KILLED." Vesp fired the Gaster Blaster. It had vaporized the entire lower half of my body. I managed to teleport away in pain. I had teleported into a destroyed basement. My upper body was propped against the corner of the room.

"Azzy... I'm sowwy... I faiwed you..." I started to sob silently. Then I felt someone pet my head. I looked up and saw Azzy.

"Don't worry, Gray. You've done great." Asriel said smiling.

"But... I-I failed you... I failed Kens..." I started to sob again. Asriel cupped his paws around my soul. Green magic shone throughout the room.

"You didn't fail anyone. If anything, you gave us hope. And remember..." Asriel motioned to my soul. "You are filled with a strong trait, a trait of your own... You are filled with... BELIEF." I looked at Azzy.

"Thank you." I said.

"Don't thank me, thank your friends and family!" Azzy motioned towards behind himself.

"I believe in you, nephew! NYEH HEH HEH!" Papyrus said happily.

"Please return safely, my child." Mom said smiling warmly.

"T-technically, I-its I-impossible f-for y-you to b-beat him, but I-I know you c-can!" Alphys said.

"NGAAAAH! Come back for your cooking lessons!" Undyne said smiling.

"OH, YES. DON'T FORGET OUR BIG DEBUT!" Mettaton said winking. Sans just stood there, smiled and acted lazy. Everyone faded away. I smiled. My body started to glow light purple, and my legs grew back. I had just now noticed the two little nubs on my head. I smiled. I snapped my fingers.

???'s POV

They have unknowingly been inhabited by Harca. Naive youth. I will follow them home. I must prevent Harca's darkness from spreading...

Kens' POV

I paced my room back and forth worrying about Gray. Then I got a call from Hallby.

"He's... where?" I asked. I dropped my phone and ran out the door. As I walked into the bowling alley, Gray was sitting at the bar drinking something. I wanted to run up to Gray and hug him tightly, but it seemed better not to. Instead I walked up to a stool and sat next to him. He smiled when he saw me. Then I saw what he was drinking: Chocolate Syrup. I put my arm around him. He looked at me.

"You're as pwetty as they come." He said kissing me on the forehead. Gray handed me a five dollar bill. "Go get something fwom the vending machine. Love ya, Dipper." He said drinking some more chocolate syrup.

Gray's POV

"What happened this time?" Hallby said rinsing out one of the cups. I sighed.

"It's that noticeable?" I said chuckling.

"First off, you look really stressed out. Second, your not even drinking your chocolate milk. Your drinking the chocolate syrup." I looked at he almost empty container.

"Oh... It's actuawy pretty good..." I said taking another drink.

"Gray. What happened?" Hallby said crossing his arms.

"I want to tell you..." a vision of me throwing water on Hallby flashed in front of me. "But... I can't. It's to mowbid. I don't want Kens to wowwy about me." I said standing up. "Thanks for the talk, Hallby." I walked over to Kens.

"I got my popato chisps! I'm ready to roll!" I laughed at the accidental pun Kens made, and we walked home happily.
