Chapter 12: Lucy's Troubles

It went black for a second, then i woke up to red and blue lights flashing over and over again. I covered my eyes looking around at the blured sky. I looked down at my beaten body. I had bruises from the neck down, from what i could see, and some scrapes too. A head popped up over mine. It was Patrick, two Patricks though. "Hey buddy, how are yah doin?" He asked smiling.

I ignorered the question and turned my head to the right. Patricks brand new car was scratched up, crashed, and in several different peices. Then it all came back to me, the flashing cars, the big white air bag, and the spinning. Another two heads popped up in my sight that were exactly the same. I tried poking Patrick but i didnt feel anything. "Is she gunna be okay?" Patrick asked pushing my hand back down.

"Yeah just a minor ingury, she should be recovered in a couple weeks," The random guys said.

"Where am i?" I asked rolling back over to my side.

"Your outside of the crime scene," The guy said.

"It was a hit and run El," Patrick said loudly.

"Okay im not deaf!" I yelled back.

They reclined what i was guessing was a stretcher up so i was sitting up. "But we will have to take her in, in case of coma or concussion," The guy said.

I looked around to see Lucy sitting on the bumper of an ambulance. There was a 'Police line, do not cross' tape with Paparazzi snapping pictures at the other end. I rolled my eyes scauffing. It was light out but just about to sunset. Patrick and the guy, who was probably a docter, were talking as i tried getting up. "No no, its best you dont stand for a while, so we got you these crutches," The doctor said leaning a pair of crutches against my stretcher.

I reached for them and set them in the correct position. "So which leg should i walk on with these?" I asked looking over at them.

"Walk on your right. You may have broke your left foot," The doctor said.

"Gotcha!"

I slowly started walking over to Lucy as i started getting the hang of it. "Hey duckling, whats up?" I asked.

She smiled a bit looking down at her bracelet. "Nothing, youve been out for a few hours now," She said looking back up again.

I smiled back. "Ohh really, what time is it?" I asked as she looked at her phone.

"7:56, but yah know its summer so the sun sets later," She said.

Something about her was off though, i could tell. "Hey, you know you can talk to me, right? About anything," I said as she nodded her head. "Okay just putting that out there,"

She nodded her head saying nothing else. "Whats wrong?" I asked leaning forward.

She shook her head 'no'. "Nothing," Her voice came out as a wisper but i could still understand her.

"Its always something when someone says nothing," I chuckled.

"Wha?" She looked up confused.

"Ohh nothing, its just something mama used to say when i was down," I sighed.

She closed her eyes as a tear streamed down her face. "Its a-" She wispered but the rest of the words came out as a wisper.

I acted like i could understand her as i sat down next to her rubbing her back. "Shh, shh i know," I wispered.

"Its gunna be fine. This problem will be fixed in the end," I continued.

"Really how?" She asked looking up at me.

"Uhh, y-yah know, y-youll just have to, find it in your heart?" It came out as more of a question.

"Yeah, umm youll just have to wait and see and when the time comes, youll know what to do in your heart," I said.

It kinda just came outta me. These 'Inspiring' words. She wiped the tear off her cheek. "Thank you," She wispered hugging me.

I nodded still rubbing her hand. "Welp, we better get going back to the hospital. I heard them talking, they suposably have to check for 'Brain damage'" I chuckled grabbing my crutches again.

Lucy and I walked back over to the ambulance and i haopped onto the stretcher. Patrick and Lucy both came on the ride with me. When we got there they wheeled me into a dark cold room. There was a grey tray with sharp utensils on it. 'Ohh, well how lovely'
