I crept into the house once Liam dropped us off, and I checked around to make sure Patrick wasnt home. Luckily, the garage door was closed indicating he hadnt come home yet. And just then, as if on cue, 2 bright yellow lights appeared on the garage.

His headlights. "Go upstairs, Go to a room with bright green painting and hide in it, ok?" I said.

Niall nodded and crept up the stairs. Then it hit me, Lucy's painting was green too. "Crap," I muttered. "Niall!"

But he was already disappeared up the stairs. I heard keys in the doorknob and I quickly yelled one more time, "Niall!"

"What'd you say?" Patrick asked as he walked in.

"Ohh I was just looking for Lucy's gerbil. I got lonely so I took him out of the cage, and that little rascal got away," I lied.

Patrick chuckled and rolled his eyes. "Okaaaay..."

"Im tired," Lucy yawned.

"No ur not! Why dont you go wait in the kitchen while I boil you some tea."

"No im not in the mood-" She began.

"Of course you are! Cmon, Im sure Patrick will let you stay up a little later, right Patricia?" I tried to kind of threaten him into letting her, so I could search her room for Niall.

"Shut up! And I guess so, but if she falls asleep, you have to bring her back up," He said.

"Deal."

He strolled up the stairs and I pulled Lucy into the other room. "Ok so here's the real deal," I began. "There is a snake somewhere upstairs because it was supposed to be a prank to Patrick but then it escaped."

Her eyes bulged and I could tell she was about to scream so I grabbed her mouth in my hand and she stayed silent. "Ok, so you will stay down here until I give you the clear. Got it?" I told her.

She nodded and I let go of her mouth. "Got it."

It was cruel to have lied to her, but her room was right at the top of the stairs, and it was bright green, while mine was at the end of the hallway, also bright green. I knew he was hidden in Lucys room.

I ran up the stairs, and poked Lucys door open. It was dead silent. So quiet you could hear the crickets chirping from miles away. "Niall?" I whispered. "Niall, you can come out now."

No response. So I went around checking the easiest hiding places. Under the bed, in the closet, behind the mirror, but no. No sign of Niall despite the fact that I searched every inch of the room.

I sighed, did he leave? But I shook the thought and headed into my own room. He probably did. "Pst. Elle?" The familiar Irish accent called out to me. "Is it clear?"

It came out of nowhere, till suddenly it was right behind me. Breathing down my neck. I giggled and turned around. "I knew you didnt leave."

"What made you think I left?" He asked. "I kinda just assumed this one was yours since the other one had dolls scattered across the floor."

I giggled. "Yup... Thats my sister for ya..."

{ In lè morning }

Patricks alarm clock from his room went off, waking me up with it. I turned over and looked at the time 9:30, the time that Patrick normally wakes me up to go for a jog in the morning. "Crap!" I tossed in the bed, waking Niall up in the process.

He turned to me and grinned. "Shit, Niall you have to go! Patricks coming!" I whispered sharply.

His eyes widened. "What do I do?" He asked quickly.

I shrugged. "Go umm..." I thought for a moment, hearing Patrick shuffle in his room and footsteps come near the door. "Onto the balcony, then onto the roof and jump down."

"What? jump?"

"Just do it! You'll be fine!" I reasurred him.

"Ellie, its time to wake up," I heard Patrick say from the other end of the door, as he jiggled the doorknob.

"Ellie?"

"Umm... Just one second!" I called back.

I gave Niall the 'shooing hands' and I quickly opened the balcony door. "Is everything alright in there?" Patrick asked.

"Yes, just umm-getting my bra on."

Niall looked back and grinned at me. I rolled my eyes. "Ellie, Im coming in-" Patrick started.

"One second!" I called back, and just then, Niall leaped from the roof and fell onto the ground.

He stood up quickly and felt himself down to make sure he was ok. He looked astonished when he realized he was and he gave me a thumbs up, and stumbled away. I giggled to myself and turned around just in time to see the door swinging open. "Geez, close the balcony door! Its gunna be freezing in here," Patrick barged in and slammed the balcony doors shut.

I smiled to myself, thinking about the triumph Niall felt, when he jumped from the roof and managed to stay alive.
