{One week later}

I couldn't help but wonder why Niall had been having so many solo practices the past week. I began to become suspicious. I shook the thought and walked downstairs. "Hey honey, I'm going to guitar practice tonight, with Paul," Niall came over and kissed my cheek.

"Tonight? What time?" I asked.

"7:30-11ish."

"Geez! Why so late?"

"I dunno..." He looked past me to the solid cream wall.

Why was he being so cold lately? Like when we were going to bed, he would lay at the complete opposite side of me. And he kept alot of distance, not talking much either.

"Something wrong?" I asked.

He snapped from his gaze and shook his head. "N-No just thinking."

I nodded slowly and looked over at the clock. "Well... Its 4 now... Wanna go out and get some coffee?" I asked.

"Ohh sorry, Elle. Im going out with some freinds tonight. See you tommorow," He left suddenly and left me with the cold breeze.

"Or I can go alone..." I added as the door slammed behind him.

"Hey, Ellie! Whats up?" Louis came in.

"Ohh nothing. Niall just blew me off again... Hes visiting some friends and going straight to solo practices..." I told him.

"Thats weird... Paul's out of town. Did he say who the lessons were with?" He asked.

"Yeah... He said they were with Paul..."

He stopped and placed a finger on his top lip. "Hmm... Maybe hes lying... I don't know." He shrugged.

"Ohh... Umm..." I didnt like the thought that Niall had to lie to me. What was he hiding? "Ok... Well thanks. Im gunna head out to get some coffee. Wanna come with?"

"I'm good. I have to stay home and go over the new songs with Liam a couple times anyway. Thanks for the offer though."

I nodded. "No problem. I'll see you later!" And with that, I grabbed my car keys and left.

By the time I got there, there was a huge line leading outside. Then I realized it wasnt to get coffee, it was for job offerings. How wonderful. I might as well earn a living while I'm on the run.

I lined up as well, behind a wavy haired red head. "I'm taking job offers too!" A teen girl about my age ran around looking for people.

She came up to me, coffee tray in hand and all of a sudden, she slipped on the rug leading outside. Its just my luck that I happened to stand right where she tripped. "Damn," I mumbled under my breathe as the burning liquid ran down my shirt.

"Ehmagawd I am SOOO sorry!" She jumped up and gathered the things I had dropped, and tried wiping me off, which didnt really work.

"No no its fine," I said, aggrivation tipping to the end of my words.

"Are you lined up for the job?" She asked quickly, while grabbing paper towels and helping me clean up.

"Yeah... But I don't have my application with me," I told her.

"Ohh well thats fine! Your hired!" She added a chuckle as she said, "Its the least I can do."

I realized that she was refurring to my laptop that was now soaked in hot coffee. Its probably broken... But I needed a new one anyways. "Wow... Really?" I asked.

"Its a new policy!" She giggled.

"If you spill coffee on someone and their laptop then you give them a job?" I asked.

"I guess so... I just made it up right now," She giggled.

"Well, thanks for the job," I smiled.

"Hey, do you want to meet up with me and my friends and go and check out colleges? Your a senior too, right?" She asked.

"Junior, but yeah sure! We can do research and stuff for it. It'll be so fun! We can plan it all out and stuff!" I said.

"Yeah..." She looked confused. "Well I better get back to work, my aunts gunna kill me if she finds out I'm talking on the job."

"Your aunt owns this place?"

She smiled smugly. "Yup. It runs through the family. 198 years of hard work!"

{Later that night}

I got all dressed up for meeting her friends. Later she ended up giving me her number and telling me her name was Emerson. People call her Emma though.

I wanted to make a good first impression. She told me her friends were REALLY popular and judgy. So I wanted to make sure they liked me.

I put on a frilly white shirt and a short light blue skirt, with flats and I brought my new laptop with and a ton of things to help us find good colleges. When I got to the park-where I was meeting them, Emma giggled at me. I felt a bit under-dressed compared to what they were wearing. Slutty dresses and TONS of makeup. "Ohh sweetie, you really thought we were going to go and look for colleges, didn't you?"
