For this lesson I will be going over "Diphthongs" ..... now thats a funny word ㅋㅋㅋ ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) anywayss~~~

Diphthongs are like "combined vowels" except they make a different sound lel #confusing <:

I'm just gonna jump right in.

Vowels:

ㅐ- ae (as in wet)
ㅒ - yae (as in yet)
ㅙ - wae

ㅔ- e (sounds the same as ㅐ)
ㅖ- ye

ㅘ - wa
ㅚ - oe (its like ㅗ if you're lazy, or "oo eh")
ㅝ - weo
ㅟ - wi (as in we)
ㅞ - we (as in wet)

ㅢ - ui

Now ㅢ changes sounds! If it's at the beginning of a word it sounds like ㅟ "wi" as in 의자 (Chair) and if its at the end it sounds like ㅒ"yae" as in 나의 (My)

Consonants:

ㅃ - bb
ㅉ - jj
ㄸ - dd
ㄲ - gg
ㅆ - ss

Now these consonants sound very "forceful" and very "tight"

ㅃ - you kinda have to pop the P sound like in 아빠 (dad) but dont let out any air like H.

ㅉ - I think I said that ㅈ in the beginning of a word sounds like Ch right? Now ㅉ really sounds like Ch, like in 진짜 (really)

ㄸ - For D's and N's you kinda have to put your tongue to the back of your teeth/or between for this sound so for ㄸ just force it out.

ㄲ - very pronounced, use the back of your throat.

ㅆ - gotta be hella extra with this. Simple enough?

I'm so bad at explaining these things xD But I think that's all for 한글 ^^ Just practice and you'll be fine. The Korean alphabet is the simplest in the world after all, so don't worry about it. xx
