Chapter Four: It Took Me to Him

Very little had changed inside. The ceilings were tall, the rooms were littered with gigantic pillars, and there was no carpet. As I said, it was the same.

That stone must be so cold, I thought, dreading the influence the snow outside had played on the flooring. I'm keeping my shoes on the whole time I'm here.

I was trying my best not to shiver.

'This place already looks repaired.' I stated with a hint of surprise, remembering the disastrous battle with Sasuke-kun just a few years ago.

Mifune-san joined Naruto and myself in observing the room, his hands crossing behind his back. 'Yes, well, we've been working on this since we returned from the war. What else would you expect?'

'The Leaf Village still has a long way to go. I guess when your world is a building site you think everywhere else is, too.' I responded.

'I suppose.'

Naruto jumped into the conversation, literally. He moved sideways so violently I failed to act in time, him bringing us both to the ground as a result.

Then, laughter erupted. From behind one of the recently replaced pillars was a man Naruto and I knew well.

It was, Hachi-sama; Killer B.

'Octo-pops! Don't just jab my sides! You scared me!' Naruto screamed, outraged as he de-tangled himself from me.

Killer B, though, was having a fantastic time, keeling over as laughter stole his control. Even Mifune-san had to hide a smile.

I guess Naruto and I must've fallen in an amazing position.

Naruto stood and offered me his hand. I took it without much complaint and dusted myself off.

'Oi, twerp, watch where you're going.' I chastised.

'Sorry, Sakura-chan.'

'Yo! Naruto! Was up?' B snag, putting his arms through several movements he thought were cool and becoming of his ninja and rapper rank. I didn't quite agree.

'What are you doing here?' My teammate questioned.

'Waiting for you.'

My teammate laughed. 'Al~lright! But . . . Why?'

'My bro told you'd be here and I was, you know, in the area!'

I watched the two of them, both as childish as the other. They, also, seemed pleased when they noticed Mifune-san and my own annoyance, chuckling lightly to each other. The two performed a light embrace before turning to me.

'Righty-o, shall we go?' B asked.

I was a little startled, stuttering my response. 'Ah - yea - yes. Uh-huh. Let's. Mifune-san?'

He nodded to me. 'This way.' He gestured to the left with his hand. We followed. Naruto and Killer B bickered the whole way.

We were lead through two more grand rooms, three incredibly windy hallways and two jail-like areas. Finally, in the second one, we reached our destination. Before entering I asked a question.

'Why is Sasuke-kun still in here? He's been exempted of his crimes.'

Mifune-san paused, chewing on his cheek and sparing a glance at B-sama. 'Another country has asked for him. I'm not really in the position to say no.'
