Beep! Beep!
Audelia woke up to the sound of her alarm clock blaring, wishing that for once she could let herself fall back asleep and miss the blandness of the day. The morning's usual dullness was severely underwhelming as she combed her fingers through her mess of cherry hair and blinked away the sleep from her emerald eyes. The one window of her apartment displayed the mass of people as they stampeded their way to work, all never giving a second glance to the others around them. Audelia sighed as her day began, her life always on repeat, and her heart always boringly intact.
Slipping on her coat she swiped a granola bar from her kitchen, the satisfying crunch of it keeping her sanity intact in the silence of her kitchen. She primped herself in the reflection of the window as she heard the clock strike letting her know her train was to leave in less than 10 minutes. She quickly rushed out of the door shivering as the wind blew softly in the depths of an August morning.
