Chapter Two

*Marcus's point of view*

(They eyes are Marcus's eyes)

I was the first to wake. Lifting my head I looked around the darkened room. I looked at Rose curled into my side next to me. I smiled and kissed her nose to wake her.

She groaned and woke and looked at me with sleepy eyes. I smiled at her. "Time to wake up." I said and got up and got dressed. I heard her whine when she got up and dressed.

Turning around looking at her sadly. "I'm sorry my love, we will be together again soon I promise." I whispered and kissed her softly.

It hurts me to leave her, but at the state between out species we can't take the risk.

I head back towards my father's coven. Being of noble/pure blood he is the leader of the coven and one of the elders. I walked up to the black gates and waited for the gate master in the control room to unlock and open the gates.

Hearing the screeching sound from the gates I walked forward and headed towards the mansion/castle. Walking inside as the doors opened from the servants I headed up the stairs and too my room.

But before I could open the door to my room I heard my father's voice. "Where have you been Marcus?! Spending the day away from the coven, away from the safety of these walls and from me?!" He yelled.

I sighed and turned to face my father. "Father trust me I was safe, I lost track of time and spent the day in am abandon house. I can protect myself you know that." I said looking at him.

He sighed heavily. "Marcus, there have been reports of Licans closer and closer to our coven each day and even reports of one or more trying to track our pick up areas for our weapons." He said sternly.

My heart dropped when he said that. It is Rose who is tracking where our shipments get picked up. If she is found they would kill her. "I promise father that I will find the Lican that is tracking us and take care of it." I said sternly.

My father nodded in approval. "Good." He said his voice deep and hoarse. I watched as he walked off back to his privet chambers. I sighed in relief and walked into my room closing the door tightly locking it.

"I know your secret." I head a voice say. Turning around I saw David. "And that secret is?" I asked challenging him walking over to him. He watched me closely as I came closer to him. He moved to be on the other side of my desk away from me.

"I know you are seeing that bitch of a Lican." He hissed. I lost it and moved quickly grabbing him by the throat and pinning him up against the wall. "Watch what you say, tell anyone about us I will personally kill you understand me. I know a dark secret about you that you would not want my father or the coven to know about." I hissed tightening my grin around his neck.

"A...Alright I understand." David choked out. I let go dropping him to the floor. "Get out of my site." I hissed moving aside. Watching him scramble up from the floor and unlock the door and head out closing the door behind him.

I threw a book across the room in frustration and anger.

Damn it! I thought we were careful! How did he find out?!

Pacing around my room trying to figure out how he found out about Rose and I. I stopped remembering a few months back that I felt that someone was watching us through the cabin window one night. If that was him then he has kept that secret for a while now and to confront me about it now must mean he wants something.

    I sighed and rubbed the back of my neck thinking about it. I wasn't gonna worry about it to much. If he's kept it a secret this long he will keep it even longer.

    Walking over to my bar I grabbed a flask and a glass and poured some blood into the glass. Sipping on the blood I looked out the window watching the Death Dealers walk around the perimeter of the property.

    Hearing a knock on the door I walked over and unlocked it and looked at my father. "Come in." I said and stepped aside for him to walk through the door. I closed the door behind him and turned and looked at him watching him pour himself a glass of blood.

    I swallowed hard and waited for him to speak. "The war between us and the Lican's has grown even more. The wolves are at our door. Thomas has grown stronger in numbers. Even his own daughter, Rose, fights for him. His own flesh and blood." He said shaking his head taking a long drink of the blood.

    I swallowed hard. "I will fight for you also father." I said finally. He looked at me once he finished his glass setting it down. "Marcus, I will not risk it, I love you and I would not want you to get killed because of this war." He said sternly.

    I looked down. "Father, I must. I already kill Licans for you." I said sternly. "No! You will not fight in this war for me! I will not allow it!" He yelled.

    I looked away. "Are you trying to be part of this war to impress a girl? Is that why you have been gone for days at a time? Are you spending time with her?" He questioned walking closer to me. I looked up at him. "No, can't I prove myself to you by fighting for you?" I asked lying to him.

    He hummed looking at me. "Very well, you can fight in this war, but do not put yourself into any position that would get you killed." He said and hugged me. "I love you son." He said and kissed my forehead and walked out of my room closing the door behind himself.

    What have I just done?
