I stare at the flowers that I rested on after falling again. I've done every possible route, and I'm tired. Tired of the same ending. I've does genocide once, neutral twice, all the rest pacifist. I've found hidden things, other people haven't been able to find. There's nothing left for me to do.
After a week of laying on the flowers, refusing to continue to repeating cycle, I think of a plan for something new to do. The other human I met during genocide. I'll talk to Flowey even, to see if he knows anything about them. I'll learn more about this human, and find out why they murdered, why they killed me after genocide, truthfully.
I stand up from the flowerbed and walk towards the bright yellow flower. I listen and do as old, just so I can talk to him. Before we enter battle, I decide to speak. "Do you know anything about the human in the green sweater? I know you know who I'm talking about." I said, trying my best of sound confident. The flowers smile disappears.
"Why are you asking?" Flowey asks. I shrug, not knowing if I should tell him the truth. Does he even know of all the resets?
"I'm curious about them, just answer the question, and I won't kill you right on the spot." I threaten. I need to get information, and if this were the way, I'll just reset and nobody would remember.
"You can't kill me! I'll just over power you!" The flower yells, but I can hear it's nervous. I smirk and shrug.
"Tell me, this is your last straw. If you chose not to, you're dead." I glare at him, but keep my slight smile.
"You wouldn't--"
"I would, tell me!" I growled. His eyes grew, and he smiles.
"Okay. Chara, that's their name. They died because of an illness. All monsters loved them, when they died, everything went to hell. I died, from human, just trying to let Chara be free. Now I'm a flower. Nobody speak of them anymore, or even me. In order to meet them, you'll need to kill all the monsters. You're not the only one who did that once. I can't reset anymore, because you're here, overpowering me. So it's just all a game. Chara, they were my best friend. I loved everything they did, we were so close." The flower kept a straight face. For someone who was talking about a dead loved one, didn't seem so broken. I guess it's time to kill every monster again. After I talk to them of course.
"Thank you, Asriel. I'll see you next route. Now, do the attack to bring her here." He does as I said, then suddenly he is hit by a ball of fire. I see Toriel. She explains who she is, then helps me take me home with her.
She tucks me into the bed with the soft red blankets. Why does she have so many kids items if she's just alone by herself? Unless she's so old her kids all moved out. I notice her walking towards the door, I quickly sit up and shout her name. "Toriel! Wait! I have a question.." I stared into her eyes, then she smiles, giving me a nod. She walks back over and sits on the edge of the bed.
"What is it, my child?"
"Who was Chara to you?" I saw her face turn to pure horror.
"H-how do you know that name?" Toriel stutters.
"Just answer my question, and it's best if you answer it now." She nods, and takes a deep breath.
"I never want to remember them, it only hurts me. Chara was my child, and siblings with my other child, the goat, Asriel. Everyone knew of them, and they loved Chara, just as much as I did. When they got sick, and.. died, I didn't realize I'd lose both of my kids that day." Toriel lifts her huge hands to her face and wipes the tears that started streaming down her face. She chuckles and puts her hands back onto her lap. "Goodnight, my child." She stands again and walks out of the room, closing the door behind her. I stare at the ceiling, unsure of what to do with the information that I've gotten so far. People really cared about Chara, maybe the reason why they kill is because they only want to be remembered. No one deserves to be forgotten, and the monsters are trying so hard to try to make them disappear.
I killed each monster after I got more and more information from them. Chara was so important to everyone, and yet they try to forget.
I finally get to the end, I stare at Chara, trying to take my soul to add on to the thousands of them. "I wouldn't forget. You're more than just an abandoned memory. You matter. No one deserves to be forgotten. No one deserves to disappear." I yelled before I could give Chara the answer. I watched their eyes widen.
"How do you know? It's too late. They all already forgot me!" Chara screams at me.
"No they didn't. I talked to them all, they all remembered! I'll just reset, and you'll see for yourself!" I screamed. "I'll make people remember you, not forget. I'll start a program, to make your memory last. People shouldn't forget, nobody deserves to be forgotten." I said, staring into the black goopy eyes.
"It won't work. Just give me your soul, or nobody can have it!" Chara screams, the black melting down their face.
"It will! I'll convince everyone, just please!" I screamed, holding onto my chest where my heart is.
"Fine. Convince me. You're the only one who can see me, so go ahead. Prove to me that these people will remember, not forget. They already try so hard to get rid of me, so what's the point of bringing back my memory?"
"To show everyone that each of us matter, even the dead. They left their mark, and they deserve to be remembered. Like you." With my last words, I grab onto Chara's hand and reset.
I get past Flowey, then talk to Toriel once we get to the house. I sit on her lamp while she sits in her chair. "I want to create something, something called The Chara Project. It's a program to keep Chara's memory alive. They don't deserve to be forgotten. You all try so hard to forget, but it's not fair. No one deserves to be forgotten, no one deserves to be alone. Everyone deserves to live on through memories through the ages." I said to her. She seemed to be so confused. She doesn't know that I know about Chara, but I notice her smile.
"That's very kind of you, but, how do you know of Chara?" She asks.
"It's a long story, that I don't you can handle. Just, do you want to help with the program?" I aksed. I really hope she will accept.
"Yes, I'll help. We need to talk to the king if you want this to be a huge project." She tells me. I nod, and she continues to smile.
As Toriel and I head to the castle, we pass by monsters, telling each of them of the project. They each take part, and I once I get to the castle, I have never felt so determined. Chara floats behind me, watching everything happen in amazement, sure that they thought all this wouldn't happen.
I stare at the king as he and goat mom speak to each other. "Asgore, we can't keep forcing our true problems away. You know Chara was special, and we can't just throw all our amazing memories with them away. We did all that for a reason, to keep our memories." Toriel says sternly to the king, Asgore. He stares at her, his expression soft, and very thoughtful. It was if I could hear his thoughts, he was having flashbacks of him and Toriel, with their kids. Asriel and Chara.
He agrees, and I make an announcement to all, Chara floating behind me. "There's a reason for each of us to be here. We all have a purpose, and Chara shouldn't be forgotten. No one should be forgotten. We've all made memories for a reason, and each of us deserve to have our memories live on. We all matter, we all deserve to be here and spread the joy. None of us are alone, you have me, you have your families, you have friends!" I tried my best to sound motivational.
My words effected everyone in the underground, Chara was remembered, and everyone was much more happier around. It was heartwarming to see all the joy and love.
I sit alone in my room, I'd rather not reset. I'm staying in this one for the rest of my life. I turn to look at Chara who was floating by the edge of my bed. "Chara." I whispered, not wanting to wake anyone up. Chara turns to me, then I notice tears rolling down their cheeks. I see their once red eyes, now a gold color.
"Thank you Frisk, for making everyone remember. You were right, no one deserves to be forgotten. Never to forget, and to never let all their memories die." They smile, and I smile back.
"You're welcome!"
