Kian

After getting lost multiple times, I found Mr. and Mrs. Holmes' bedroom. I gently woke them up. Mrs. Holmes looked happy to see me. While the three of us walked downstairs to the living room, I explained to them what happened. Then I asked what we should do.

"One thing we CAN'T do is call the police because London's father is obviously an abusive alcoholic.," said Mr. Holmes.

"Otay."

"He can stay a few days," said Mrs. Holmes.

"But I'm just concerned about how him and Tris will get along," Mr. Holmes replied.

"I've got it," Mrs. Holmes said suddenly, "London can sleep in the guest room on the other side of the house." The thought of London and Tristan sleeping in the same house made me kind of queasy, but I didn't know what else to do. I decided to just let them do it.

"Is there anything else I can do to help?" I asked, "I can come over every day after school to help you guys out."

"That would be lovely," Mr. Holmes exclaimed.

"Great," I responded, "I'll see you tomorrow."

"You mean today?" Mrs. Holmes chuckled, "If you want, you can check on Tristan before you leave."

"Gladly!" I said. She didn't have to tell me twice.

I had a sudden thought as I walked back upstairs. What if the love of my life was straight? I'd do anything to make him mine! I got to the door of his room. I knocked, but there was no sound. I cracked the door open a little and saw Tristan on his bed holding his pillow tightly. He looked so cute when he was asleep. I closed the door as I walked over to him. The light from the hallway would wake him up. I sat on the bed and looked over him for a few minutes. I ran my fingers through his brown hair and caressed his light facial hair. I bent down and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Then, I walked back to the door.

"I love you, Tristan Holmes," I whispered before closing the door. Then I noticed it was open a little further than I left it. My tiredness is being weird to my senses. I went downstairs and saw Tristan's parents holding each other in their arms. His mom came over and pulled me into a tight hug.

"Did I do something wrong?" I asked as she was suffocating me.

"Oh no, no no no no," she responded, "See you after school!"

I turned around to walk out the door when Mr. Holmes called me.

"Kian?"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you."

"No problem." I walked out of the house and drove back home. When I got there, I fell asleep in the living room immediately. I was hella tired.

I woke up that evening after sleeping the day away. I looked at my phone and saw it was 4:47 p.m.

"Kian!" Mom called, "Granny's having Sunday evening dinner today!" Crud! I forgot about that! My grandmother does it every Sunday.

"I can't go!" I responded.

"You NEED to see your Granny!"

I explained to her all that happened last night.

"Fine," Mom said, "But I'm gonna make sure Granny goes off on you the next time she comes over!" About five minutes later, she left to Granny's house. I grabbed my phone off the coffee table and texted Tristan.

Me: Hey, Tris. Wanna hang?

I sat in my bed envisioning what I sent. I know what I wanna do. I wanna cuddle with him, hug him, and kiss him. All I want his him.

My phone buzzed and flashed.

My Everything: Otay. I'd love to J

Tristan

Anxiety started kicking in. I'm really shy when you first meet me, but I feel like I am going farther out of my comfort zone when I'm with Kian. I feel... safe.

I ran through the house doing my usual morning routine. I spent extra time on my hair because why not? I passed the guest room and saw a PERSON IN THERE! What? It was London!

Stop, Tristan. Just breathe. I said in my head Kian will keep you safe.

I took a deep breath and my heart rate slowed down. I walked down the hall not paying attention to London. As soon as I turned the corner, I went to the mirror on the stairway. I took one last good look at myself.

"Hey, honey," I heard my mom say from behind me. I turned and saw her smiling and motioning me to come closer. Gahdam! I'm trying to look good for my man.

"Can I talk to you really quickly?" she asked. Whenever she said that, I automatically knew it was not gonna be quick.

"Sure."

"After you went to sleep last night, your father, Kian, and I decided to put London in the guest room. I want you and London to stay as far away from each other as possible."

"Okay. Not a problem."

"Anyway," Mom continued, "Kian and I were talking and he said he insisted on coming every day after school. Isn't that terrific?"

My mouth fell to the floor.

"After things settled down, Kian went up to check on you while you were asleep. I followed him and the door was left cracked. He was stroking your hair gently."

"Oh wow," I said trying not to bounce off the walls.

"Then he bent down and gave you a kiss on the cheek."

I put my hand over my mouth.

"I kinda ran and left the door open."

"Oh, my God," was all I could say. I was shocked. But it was a good shocked. I finally got what I wanted the most. I can't believe this is happening. Then I realized Kian and I were hanging soon. I felt like vomiting. I was excited and nervous at the same time. Maybe one of us were finally gonna make a move. Just thinking about him was making me sweaty.

"What's wrong?" Mom asked snapping me out of my trance.

"Uh..." I started, "Kian kind asked... if I wanted to hang out today."

My mom came up the stairs, straightened my Sporting KC shirt and said, "Go to him."

Need fresh air! I said in my head. I went out on the porch and then texted Kian.

Me: Wassup. I'm ready.

I anxiously walked in circles.

BUZZZZZZZZZ!

Helpful Person: Otay. See ya in a few.

The true anxiety set in. I was about to spend the evening with the man of my dreams who apparently loves me back but both of us are too apprehensive to say it.

Ten minutes later, he pulled into the driveway playing 3OH!3. I like his music taste.

"Kian's here! Bye, Mom!" I called.

"Don't forget to use protection!" she yelled back.

"MOM!"

I heard her laugh as she closed the door. I sighed then a sudden wind blew all my worries away. I jumped into Kian's car.

"Hey," I smiled.

"Hi," he responded with his nice smile, "You ready?"

"Yup. Where are we going?"

"Depends. Where do you wanna go?" he asked.

"Well what do you wanna do, Mr. Driver?" I asked as I smacked him in the arm playfully. We both laughed.

"OOH! I have an idea!" he shouted before driving out the neighborhood, "I wanna show you something." We drove to a deserted area. Luckily it was still light out. Kian drove many twists and turns. And then we finally made it to where I assumed he wanted to be. We got out of the car.

"I don't see anything," I said.

"Just wait," Kian said as we started walking. We kept walking until I felt like I couldn't breathe.

"It's so.... Beautiful!"
