Chapter 7. A Selfless Act

“Ok. Now we need a car” Scotty said. We looked around and Brett’s mouth dropped when he saw a 4 seat red Ferrari “oh yeah that’s my ride” Brett said “ok we got a ride now let’s go to my aunt house” I said. Right then we heard a roar and Emily said “what was that?” “I don’t know but does anyone know how to hot wire?” Sarah said “I do” Brett said “well get to it before it gets here” Emily said panicky. “Ok” Brett said then he ran and jumped into the Ferrari and opened up the starter and started cutting and connecting wires. “Ok, Brett has that now get ready for whatever is coming” I said. Right then the thing came around the corner of a building. It was 3 stories tall with 6 legs supporting from its massive body. It kinda looked like a dragon with no wings and no tail and a short neck with red like fire skin. “Brett how long do you need?” Emily asked “ummm maybe 6 minutes” he said “you got three” I said. “Ok any one got a plan?” Sarah asked “yeah I do” I said “me, Scotty and Sarah will attack it while Emily will protect Brett.” After I said that I jumped up onto a lamp post climbed up the rest of the it and then  started jumping from lamp post to lamp post while the rest of them followed me on the streat. When I got close to it I jumped on to the side of a building and pushed off. It got the effect I wanted it to I landed on the monsters back I started running up toward its head. Scotty and Sarah had a diffrent way to get up on to the monster monster. Scotty was running at top speed, He jumped on to a car then jumped  up and grabbed a lamp post and swung himself up onto the monsters back. Then he helped Sarah up.We got up to its head and I cut at its neck. But my sword glanced off its neck and I stumbled backwards and would have fell if Sarah hadn’t grabbed my arm. “Thanks Sarah I owe you one” “no problem riley” Sarah said. “Guys lets go, I hotwired the car, so if you want to live then I suggest that you get over here.” Brett yelled up from the car. So me, Scotty and Sarah ran down its back but when we got to the car I realized that all of us couldn’t fit. “Guys we can’t all fit what are we going to do” Emily said. I looked around and saw a skateboard and some rope. "Guys i got a idea" 

I ran over grabbed the board and the rope handed the rope to Scotty and said “let me see a pistol Brett and Scotty... Hold on to that end of the rope so i dont die or i will kill you and the rope. Brett you drive” “ok” “hey why can’t I drive?” Sarah said Because she loves Ferraris. “Because.... Ummmm. You didn't hotwire."

So I got on the skateboard and told Brett to start the car. He started the car while I jumped onto the skateboard. “Punch it” I yelled over the noise of the engine and off we went going down Main Street at 60miles per hour. But the monster could take steps as long as the street. I called up to Brett “take a right up here” “but that will just take us to the bridge” “just do it” i yelled at back up to him. He made the quick right and I didn’t have time to turn so I pulled off I leaned back on my board and jump up onto a car. I lost the board under my feet but luckily I hit a wall and started running on it.  Scotty look backed and yelled “how are you doing that?” “I don’t know” I called back “well you better have a plan because there’s no wall on the bridge” “I don’t but I’ll just wing it”. Quickly I came up with a plan that was probably gonna get me killed but it was worth a shot. “Brett slow the car down” “ok” he yelled back. The next thing I did was crazy but I figured I was gonna die anyway so what the heck. The car was on the bridge when I ran out of wall to run on so I jumped as far as I could and somehow by a miracle the rope hit the a lamp post wrapping around it and when I was at the right angle I said “Scott let go!” As soon as he let go I flew into the car which threw it to the side. When the car hit the side the left side of the car was lifted on to wall of the road. Next thing I knew I was hanging out of the side of the car over the water but somehow Scotty had grabbed me just before I was too far away to grab. “Thanks Scott” I said while he pulled me up back into the car. “Ok what are we gonna do about that thing back there?” Emily said “I have an idea” I said “everyone is gonna get out while I turn the car around and hit the gas. See that turn off right there, and that little ramp wall thing in between the turn off and the bridge I’m going to hit that at full speed then jump out before I blow up” “Ha ha ha ha” Scotty laughed “you’re kidding right” I looked so serious at him he stopped laughing and said “oh you’re not kidding.” I shook my head “Brett stop the car” he stopped the car “everyone out” I said “if I don’t make it get to my aunt’s house she will help you.” Then I looked straight ahead and I was thinking even though I’m gonna die at least I can help my friends get away. As I drove toward the monster and I heard Emily and Sarah cry a little because they knew I was going to die.  Brett and Scotty just gave me a smile and a thumbs up because they thought i wasgoing to make it. I looked ahead and slammed my foot into the gas    pedal and started speeding toward the monster at 60mph, 70mph and then I was at 80mph and the ramp was in front of me. Next thing I knew I was in the air about to hit the monster when I blacked out.
