Anna was a regular citizen who had a passion for art and no time for anyone else. Her family and friends had left her and she was forced to pursue a life on her own only finding loneliness in the end.
Every girl in her town dreamed of one of the princes to whisk them away and make their dreams come true. Everyone except Anna, she saw no interest in any of them but Luke Brooks was the only prince she despised. Anna saw Luke Brooks as a person who saw girls as toys and never had any feelings, so whenever he came to town she hid in her art store, none of the princes would want her art.

Anna
"Have you heard?" Beth asked Anna, sitting on the stool of the art shop. Anna's boss didn't mind her sitting around the store, it was a normal thing for her to come around.
"What? Has someone died by the one of the princes hand again?" Anna said with an unamused tone as she set up another painting in the small art store.
"No the princes are coming to town!" Beth cheered but Anna stopped adjusting her paintings and turned to Beth.
"That means another day in the art store for me." Anna muttered as Beth sighed.
"Don't worry Anna they would never take you away, they only look for girls with true beauty." Beth said, looking into the mirror on the desk.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Oh I didn't mean it that way but they just look for beautiful girls." Beth shook off but Anna couldn't help but let the comment tug at her heart. Beth wasn't wrong, Anna wasn't anything special, far from it.
"Oh." Anna muttered not knowing how to respond to Beth's comment.
"I hope they notice me, I took a long time preparing. Imagine being chosen by one of the princes and being whisked away to their castle. Then-" Beth started to go on.
"They play with you and toss you to the side." Anna finshed off Beth's sentence.
"Not true!" Beth pouted.
"Yes it is, except for Prince Jai I heard he doesn't bother with girls anymore." Anna said remembering the rumors the ladies at the soup store had muttered.
"Yeah well since the princess of the other royal kingdom had left him." Beth said shaking her head in disappointment.
"It was the princess of the Americas right?" Anna had asked Beth who simply nodded.
"What a shame right? Dropping a prince like Jai for someone else." Beth muttered as Anna agreed. She had left Jai for the Prince of the upper region of America. What a shame, Jai had seemed like the only decent prince of the Brooks kingdom.
Their conversation was broken when cheering was heard outside of the art shop, Beth's smile grew bigger than when she had talked about the princes.
"Well if you're not going I am." Beth answered exiting the store leaving Anna sitting alone at the counter.
..
Anna knew that there wasn't going to be any costumers so her boss left her the keys as he went out to witness the princes himself, telling Anna to leave when she pleases.
"Silent night, holy night all is calm all is-" Anna's singing was cut off by the door being thrown open and a figure stepping inside. The person came up to Anna and sat on the stool Beth had sat on over an hour ago.
She had knew who he was by his confident walk and his perfect features. It was Jai brooks himself, the person who was supposed to be showered in gifts and happiness had walked into the old art store.
"Hello." He said with a smile looking at Anna.
"Your highness." She muttered as he looked at the art work around the store making Anna grow uncomfortable by the second. What did he want? Certainly not the art Anna had drew, he could get better pieces anywere else.
"Who drew these pictures?" Jai asked Anna, he had genuinely like the art on the walls. His interest in art was his secret because a prince couldn't be an artist it would make him look foolish.
"I have your highness." Anna said embarrassed as he stared at the photo of a girl on a swing smiling as the sun hit her features.
"How much?" He asked looking at the portait, it reminded him of the princess he was in love with, how her beauty was never noticed, he wanted the portrait in his room.
"E-Excuse me?" She stuttered, why would the kind want her pictures? The one she worked on all night when she couldn't sleep.
"How much for this painting?" He asked her as she looked in disbelief.
"You can just take it," She said shrugging. Who would charge the prince anyways? They have never been charged. The art store door was suddenly thrown open and the man Anna despised walked in.
"Jai why are you in here?" Luke Brooks asked before he looked at the girl behind the counter, his breath htiched as he stared at the girl sitting their looking at her hands. She looked up and met his gaze only making him more fascinated with her.
