Gone Too Soon

Rosie red cheeks
Blood flowing through the veins
Heartbeat
Laughter filling the winter breeze

Cheeks now pale
Blood runs cold
Take me instead
Laughter is gone
Silence filling the air
Suffocating my violent sobs
Older sister to no one anymore

Snow sticking beyond the window
without her footsteps
The front yard no longer has meaning
I am numb
not from the cold

Good morning everyone! Another poem to keep the doctors at bay. Again, another heavy topic but this poem has so much love and meaning behind it. So please continue reading down below!

At the age of eleven I was expecting my first sibling. For all those years I was an only child and was not so happy about that being taken away from me. But as months went by I came to love the idea. The problem was, things weren't as perfect as they seemed.

My mom was having difficulty with the pregnancy. She was put into the hospital and the doctors were trying to hold out on having my little sister early. Then my mom's kidneys were shutting down and it had to happen as soon as possible.

My little sister was born three months early and was only two pounds and two ounces. She was tiny. She had to stay in the hospital for months until she made it past four pounds. The whole time she was there I was not allowed to see her due to the fact I wasn't old enough. The age was thirteen and reminder, I was only eleven.

So I started writing my feelings about the whole situation. I started picturing what it would be like to lose the little girl who became the most important person in my life. I pictured what it would be like if she was here with me for years and suddenly something happened to her.

Nothing we used to do together would have meaning and it broke my heart. But now all is good and she is a heathly happy kid who just turned seven July 2nd. Our little firecracker.

Thank you for taking the time to read all of this!

Please take one little second to tell me what you think of my writing! And while you're there maybe hit that vote button!

Until next time!
