"Hello, welcome to The Boutique. How may I help you?" I said blandly. For all this shop job was worth, it was definitely not worth looking up whenever I heard the ringing of the bell over the shop's door. What a bore.

"Well I- uh- Do you happen to know if there has been any strange occurrences  near here lately?" A awfully jovial voice piped up in front of me. I slowly peeled my attention away from the book I was reading and found an odd looking man with a blue suit (pinstriped, at that) holding some kind of small metal stick in his hand. The tip was glowing blue as the man waves it around every which way. It had a constant "bzzt" noise that was making such a racket that my head spun.

"I don't think so, sir." I rubbed my temple in mild annoyance.

"Mind me asking, but what is that thing?" I said pointedly gesturing to the noisy metal thing that I would only begin to describe as cyberpunk.

"Oh! This? It's my um sonic screwdriver. Very handy for detecting unusual energy patterns and trace elements of time travel. It also makes a noise." He rattled off. I nodded half-heartedly and looked back down at my  book. It was at an extremely interesting point where the dangerous quote-on-quote enemy was being very much a drama queen that every character knew they were.

Suddenly came an alarmed, "Uh I dont mean to frighten you but I would advise you to take a step back from that wall."

"Right now. Quickly." He added, looking very worried.

"What's wrong with the wall? It can't be dangerous can it?" I asked, slowly moving from behind the counter. As I moved, I received an exasperated look from the man that had 'You've got to be kidding me." written all over it

He held his sonic screwdriver in front of him and started to mumble. "Readings almost off the chart... It's not safe... But what is it?..." He muttered, putting the blue light up to his ear.

"Oh! I'm so brainless!" He exclaimed, waving his spindly arms about and turned to me. "You'd better get out of here. Get as far away as you can. I'll try and find you after i'm finished with this creature." He said, almost excitedly. For some reason I felt compelled to listen to this man with his strange glowing screwdriver and odd attire.

I turned to the door and walked out to the staff parking to find my car. As I started the engine, I heard a low and loud growl resonating from the shop. Hesitating from driving away, I wondered if I should help the stranger with whatever had made the ominous sound. I huffed, scrunching up my face as an act of gathering even something as obsurd as a speck of courage. Shutting off the engine, I darted back inside the shop. There in the back of the shop the man was pointing his sonic screwdriver at a metallic looking dog that had very pronounced and sharp looking fangs and it was growling. I shrieked and grabbed a emergency taser from underneath the front counter.

"Oi! I told you to get away from here! Humans never listen!" The man shouted when he saw me. I gave him a puzzled look when he said 'humans', but quickly shrugged it off and turned my attention back to the threatening looking metal dog. The thing growled and leaped at me.

"AGH!" I yelled and tased it right where it's heart would be, if it had a heart. It collapsed and made a sad sort of whimpering sound as it powered down.

"What the bloody hell was that?!" I screamed at the man. I stopped and looked around at the shop. I groaned at the utter chaos. The wall behind the counter was broken through, clothing was everywhere, and there were huge gashes in the tiles on the floor.

"Sorry about the damage. That was an attack drone from a planet in The Iris Galaxy. Excellent work with that taser.. Excuse me, I don't believe I know your name." The man said. There was a war raging in my mind as I thought this: 'Should I tell a strange man my name or not and just leave?'
