CHAPTER 4 - AUTUMN KISSES
MONDAY - 7:45 AM
I woke up late.
My legs panicked as I jumped up from my bed and moved closer to my closet, throwing on the first pair of jeans and sweater I could grab. It was pouring out. I pulled my rain boots over my feet and slipped on my rain coat, and trembled down the stairs.
No time for makeup or breakfast.
The sky was dark grey and clouds were moving above me. It was definitely a Monday. Rain steadily tapped upon the window as my windshield wipers frantically jumped up and down.
I sped to school, almost hydroplaning. If my dad was out and caught me, I would be in massive trouble. I pulled into the nearest parking lot when I arrived and tugged my backpack over my shoulders and ran.
When I entered the school, I stomped my boots on the carpet to get any access water off. I looked at the clock, noticing I still had 8 minutes until class had started. Weight has been lifted from my shoulder, I was not late.
I began walking down the hall to my locker when a hand wrapped around my upper arm and pulled me into a closet. I looked up to see West looking down at me. I scoffed and pushed his shoulder.
"What the hell? Kidnapping me? If you really wanted to get to know me better, you could have texted me, jerk."
"We need to talk about Friday night. It was-"
I cut him off, shifting my weight on my right leg and shrugging, "we almost kissed, that's it."
"But I want to do it again," West said, grinning down at me. "Not with Brittney, with you."
"You're with Brittney, we can't -"
"Uh, no. I agreed to go on a date with her. Not to be her boyfriend."
Shaking my head, my phone buzzed, getting a notification from Facebook. I grip my phone in my hand, laughing. Brittney and Weston are now in a relationship. "Really? You should tell her that."
"What the fuck!?" He yelled. I placed my hand over his mouth to shut him up. "I don't want to be with her. She's too whiny and annoying! And you're... you. Quite, not annoying, beautiful."
I smiled then shook my head, taking a step back. "Come over after school and we'll talk, okay? I'll text you my address."
"Okay."
"Okay," I paused. "Then I'll see you after school."
Peaking my head out of the closet, I made sure that no one was looking when I slipped out. I walked down the hall far enough for West to sneak out after me. I looked over my shoulder, noticing West smiling at me. I beamed, tuning back around.
He was so cute.

Monday - 3:30 PM
School went by faster than usual for a Monday.
When I arrived home, I applied some mascara and fixed up my hair. I wanted to look semi decent for when West came over.
I sat on my couch, skimming through my phone. The fireplace was burning and the heat was radiating throughout the living room. I took a sip from my hot chocolate, and the bell rang.
Was I nervous? Yes. Was I going to freak out? No.
I sprung up, feeling butterflies erupt throughout my stomach. I was beginning to shake, nervously. I let out a breath and opened the door. West was grinning and I smiled, opening the door more.
