Later that day Regina was released from the hospital. She still had a sore throat from the smoke, but it wasn't terrible. David drove her home in the truck, along with Killian and Kate. When they got to Regina's mansion she lead Kate inside with Killian close behind.
"Make yourselves at home, I'm just going to run to the bathroom really quick before we find you some clothing." Regina stated before heading upstairs.
"Okay love." Killian replied.
"She's really nice." Kate smiled at the father.
"Yeah she is." Killian replied in a little world of his own.
"You like her don't you?" Kate teased.
"What? Regina? You think I like Regina?" Killian laughed, trying to blow off the question.
"I may be only fifteen, but I'm not blind." Kate replied.
"Well It doesn't matter, because you're the only lady I need in my life right now. And besides, why would a queen be interested in a low-life pirate?"
"Oh come on. Just give it a chance." Kate replied as Regina came back down.
"Give what a chance?"
"Nothing love." Killian quickly replied before Kate could butt in.
Regina just stood there starting at Killian. Not with confusion or annoyance, but with love and endearment. "Oh - um- my room it up here, if you would follow me." Kate and Killian followed Regina up the stairs, and to her room. Regina open up a few drawers that had some clothing that would fit Kate. "Take what you want, and I have some old pants over here that should work." Regina said digging through a basket in her closet.
Kate grabbed a few old t-shirts as well as some sweaters, before looking through the basket with Regina. "Here are some yoga pants. They may be a little big around the waist, so just roll them up." Regina stated.
"Thank you so much." Kate smiled as she gave Regina a big hug.
"No problem." She replied hugging the young girl back. "So Killian, where are you guys staying?"
"Um, the Jolly Roger." Killian replied.
"You guys can't stay there." Regina insisted. "Why don't you crash here until you can get a proper place? I have plenty of guest room around, and to be honest it gets kind of lonely without Henry around"
"Well, we don't want to intrude love." Killian replied.
"Nonsense." Regina replied. "Kate you can stay in Henry's room across the hall, and Killian there is a guest room just down the hallway."
"Thank you." Killian replied.
Later that night when it was time to head to bed, Regina helped Kate find a pair of pajamas to wear. They were a light blue with white polka dots.
"Regina, I can't thank you enough." Kate said. "You've just been so kind to me, and I hardly know you. Plus I was the one that put you in the hospital."
"Well you remind me a lot of myself when I was younger. I had magic too, and I didn't know how to control it sometimes." Regina sighed. "I just want to make sure that you turn out better than I did. I always used my magic for evil and destruction. I don't want to you have to go through that struggle."
Killian came in interrupting their conversation. "Come love, time to let Regina sleep."
"Yes Papa," Kate sighed as she got up from the edge of Regina's bed. She gave Regina a quick hug before hurrying across the hall.
"I'm sorry if she was bothering you." Killian said.
"She's a sweet girl Killian." Regina smiled. "She's not a problem at all, I actually really like having her around."
"Well, night," Killian said.
"Goodnight Killian," Regina replied. Staring at him longingly as he left her room.
Come on, pull yourself together. Regina thought. Stop acting like a teenager with a school crush, you're a grown women. Killian just found his daughter, he's not interested in a relationship right now. Regina sighed deeply before climbing under her bed covers and drifting off to sleep.
