Adrian flopped down on the couch once again, too lazy to get up and set up her bedroom. Her neighbors had come over earlier, and thankfully; they brought pasta with them. Hearing the light buzz of her phone, she picked it up and opened the text.

Are you alright? I can pick you up if you want me to.

Adrian chuckled lightly at her aunt's antics. Ever since she was a child her aunt had treated her like her own child- even going as far as to support her when she went to court to become emancipated from her parents.

Yeah I'm fine. I got a job.

She sighed in content, setting her phone down. Adrian could get used to this- there was no stench of drugs and alcohol baked into the furniture nor the rugs, there wasn't any distant fighting, and most of all- there was no parents there to yell or hit her.

The quiet buzzing sound of her phone filled the air once again- although Adrian chose to simply ignore the phone and slip into the confines of sleep.

--------------------------------------------------------

Adrian woke up early in the morning- seven to be exact. She got up from the couch, stretching lightly before rubbing her eyes with a loud yawn. All she wanted was to go back to sleep, but she knew that if she did she would end up having to go grocery shopping in the middle of the day where there would be a surplus of people.

Adrian sorted through some clothes, picking out a outfit that consisted of a red shirt, black sweatpants, and a dark blue vest. She didn't mind the cold- in fact she had preferred it to being hot.

She pulled on her shoes and slipped her keys as well as her wallet into her pocket, deciding to leave the door unlocked for now. Even if someone did break in it wasn't like she had anything valuable to be stolen anyways.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Adrian grabbed a cart, strolling through the store and grabbing the things that she needed the most to survive for the time being.

"Get out of my way, you bitch" Adrian turned at the sound of a almost nauseating voice. Down the ail was a heavy set teen yelling at his mother. And by the looks of it, the older lady was taking it and not saying anything back.

She huffed, furrowing her eyebrows. If she had spoken to her parent's like that she would have gotten her ass beat. After putting another carton of eggs in the cart, Adrian turned and walked towards the teen, whom was still yelling at his mother as if she had done something wrong.

"Oi, fatass!" Adrian placed her hands on her hips, glaring at the other teen. "You shouldn't speak to your mother like that" The mother looked relieved that someone had spoken up. "Mind your own business, you bitch"

Adrian rolled her eyes. "It's not just your business when you start screaming at your mother in the middle of the store, you fuckass"

The teen grumbled a few incoherent words, glaring at the ground. "Lets go, mom. I have to go to school to call Kyle a fucking Jew"

Adrian walked away, no longer wanting to even be near the other teen. She quickly payed for her groceries before leaving the store, walking home.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adrian sighed as she got home, setting the bags down on the floor as she stretched lightly. Picking the bags back up and yawning, she walked into the kitchen and quickly put everything in it's correct place.

Humming lightly then, she walked into the living room and dragged a large box into the kitchen, pulling out pots and pans as well as plates and putting them in cupboards.

She wiped down the counters and the table with a wet cloth, making sure to clean the window's as well before putting curtains up.

She grinned at the now finished kitchen, standing in the doorway that led to the living room. She had dreamed of things like this- and now her dream was real.

If only she didn't have to put away the rest of her belongings and go to work.

She walked into the living room, grabbing another box and dragging it into a room that consisted of a queen sized bed and a black dresser. She pulled some clothes out of the box, folding them and placing them in the dressers.

She flopped down onto the bed after that, sighing in exasperation. Maybe she should take up the offer and ask her neighbor's son to help her unpack. Adrian shook her head at the thought, running a hand through her hair shortly afterwards.

Adrian got up from the bed, finishing up with putting away her clothes quickly before moving into the living room.

"Shit"

She grabbed a box, grabbing three sheathed axes and putting them into her room before once again walking into the living room.

"I'll just make mac n cheese for dinner" She mumbled, checking the time on her phone. She hooked up the wires on the television, setting up the normal tv and turning it to one of her most favorite shows- gravity falls.
