Adrian's eyes narrowed, her gaze hardening into a glare. Two older adults stood a couple feet away, their arms crossed with a gaze that matched with the teen's. "Are you coming?" A voice of another adult and the sound of a door opening broke the three out of their staredown. Adrian faked a smile, nodding quickly. "Yeah. I'll be out in a few" She huffed in annoyance after her aunt left, sending one last glare towards her parents before grabbing her wallet from the coffee table and walking out of the house to greet her aunt and younger cousins.
Although Adrian was only sixteen, she had been able to move away from her parents- with her aunt's help; of course. She was ecstatic by the fact that she had escaped her parent's iron grip, though she was nervous about moving state's away from her family.
She took a seat in the front of her aunts van, resting her head against the window after closing the door and buckling in. "You guys ready?" Adrian glanced back at her younger cousins at the sound of her aunt's question, making sure that they were buckled in. She looked back at the house she called home- her face paling at the sight of her father glaring at her through the blinds.
Putting her earbuds in, Adrian closed her eyes and let the sound of her favorite song overcome her senses. A quiet sigh left her lips, opening her eyes soon after. Her thoughts went to the town she was moving to- South Park was the name of the town, and by the research she did she found that the town was simply a small redneck mountain town much alike to the one she had once lived in with her parent's.
The car ride had taken two long days- each night Adrian's aunt stopped by motels to sleep. A pile of sandwich bags, candy wrappers, and empty soda bottles had already covered the ground.
Adrian let out a sigh of relief as her aunt pulled into her driveway, the teen opening the door and jumping out of the van even before it came to a stop. She felt leering eyes peirce into her back as her younger cousins as well as her aunt got out of the van and started pulling boxes out from the back.
She ignored them, walking into the house with a small grin. She put down the box, going out of the house to grab more boxes a moment later.

"And that's it" Adrian grinned, staring at the already furnished house. The previous owners had high tailed it out of the town, and had oddly left most of their belongings behind.
"Are you gonna need help unpacking?" Adrian's aunt questioned, her soft voice laced with concern for her niece. Adrian shook her head, smiling at the aunt in question. "Nah. I got it; Thanks though, Aunt Kim"
Kimberly nodded, replying with a quick 'You're welcome, hun' before giving Adrian a big hug and walking out of the house with her children in tow. They were a long ways away from home, after all- They were going to have another long trip back to upstate new york.
Adrian huffed, plopping down on the couch. It would be a week until the cable company would be able to come out and connect the television to the company, and at least three days before she could even think about going to school. Although, she still needed to get a job.
She shifted through her memories of the drive through the small town, almost immediately remembering the small coffee shop. Adrian got up from the couch, throwing on her vest and baggy sweater. She grabbed his key's from the coffee table and walked out the door.
Adrian had stopped at the door, looking back for a moment and forcing the urge to call out 'be back later' back. She lived alone- she had no need to do that any longer.
After locking the door, she quickly made his way through the town to the small coffee shop he had seen earlier. A bell jingled as Adrian pushed the door open, a teen with blonde hair jumping a bit at the sound.
A few groups were crowded at their own little tables, not paying much attention to anything other than their friends.
Adrian ran a hand through her short hair as she walked over to the counter. "Hello" She greeted the twitching boy, not waiting for an reply before speaking again. "Is it possible that I could get a job here?"
She shuffled her feet a bit, the weight of her loose sweater making her anxiety even worse. Tweek nodded, his twitching becoming more frequent as he reached under the counter and grabbed an application, handing it to Adrian soon after.
Adrian smiled at Tweek before turning and walking to a table and sitting down, taking a few minutes to fill out the application.
After he was done he walked back over to the counter, handing it to Tweek. "I-I uhm...I'll get m-my parents" Adrian nodded in reply, leaning against the counter as she waited for the owners of the coffee shop.
The owners came out a few minutes later, both of them smiling widely. The female owner had a uniform slung over her arm. Adrian's eyes lit up in excitement at the sight of it. "Your workdays start tomorrow. 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Don't be late" The male owner explained before the woman handed Adrian her uniform.
Adrian nodded in reply. "I'll be there" With that, he waved his new bosses goodbye before leaving the store; After all, he needed to get dinner and to start unpacking.
