Chapter 5
Evie's pov
I tried to go back to sleep after talking to tristan, but I couldn't.
I felt as if my whole body was on fire, and I was covered in sweat.
I looked around, but all I could see was red.
Was my room on fire?
I tried to talk, but I couldn't.
My mouth was so dry.
I started to think about what everyone said.
Could it all be true?
Was I going to turn into some freak?
I was in so much pain.
My body felt like it was burning from the inside out.
I looked down at my hand, and seen fire.
I screamed with everything in me.
Tristan came bursting into my room.
I thought he had left.
"It's okay Evie this is what we talked about. I am going to touch you now to help. "
"No don't I'll burn you. "
"You can't hurt me. Not only am I you're protector, but I'm also a water element. My touch will soothe the burning. You need it because it's only just begun."
This was the big surprise?
Well they could have kept this.
I don't want any of it.
I want to go back to my normal boring life.
He touched me, and the pain was gone.
But I felt something else.
something I've never felt before.
He must have felt it too because he hurried, and moved his hand.
"Now do you believe us?"
"I don't want to be this freak. "
"I assure you that your not a freak. No one can even tell what you are only other elements."
"So when will this change be done?"
"This change lasts 24 hours. You have been going through it all day only you didn't know until the pain. "
"So that's it I'm done?"
"With the pain yes, but things are about to change drastically for you. "
I didn't get to ask him what he meant because I ran to the bathroom and vomited.
I felt like I had the worst hang over ever.
Once I was done I grabbed my toothbrush.
I looked in the mirror, and didn't recognize myself.
I had flamming red hair with these Amber eyes.
The person looking back at me was beautiful.
I came out of the bathroom, and Tristan was still standing there.
"Feel better?"
"I look so different. "
"Yes until you learn to harness your powers you will look different. That's why we will be leaving right away. "
"Wait I have to leave?"
"Yes if we stay here you will be in danger. A fire element is very rare. We will go to my safe house so I can train you. "
"Who else is going?"
"Just us so it doesn't look suspicious. "
Alone with some guy I don't even know.
This has got to be a joke.
"My parents will never let me go with you."
"They know all about it. I was chosen for you. I will keep you safe."
I felt like I was losing my mind.
How could I not know any of this until now?
I have to leave my home, my family, and run away with this guy that was chosen to protect me?
What if I don't feel safe with him?
"How long do I have to say good bye?"
"We have to go now. Go say your good byes."
"What about my stuff?"
"You can't take anything. We will get you things when we get to my safe house. "
Is he serious?
I looked to see if he was kidding.
Sadly he wasn't.
I ran downstairs into my parents arms.
When I pulled back I saw a burn mark on my mom's face.
Oh my I did that to her.
I opened the door, and just ran.
I had to get away from this nightmare.
