Tristan's pov
For now I knew that Evie was safe being with Issiah.
I get why he wanted to marry her.
He had been searching his whole life for a fire element to save his race.
Together they would be unstoppable.
I wanted my friend to live forever, but he can't have her.
Evie is mine.
I love her to much to give her up.
The only reason I was acting okay with it is to get to her.
I was about to betray my friend, and start a war for the woman I loved.
I couldn't think about all of that now.
I wondered of he had touched her.
I could feel the water in my viens boiling.
I needed to calm down.
I got to the palace was was led in to a room.
"My friend it is so good to see you."
"That it is, but we need to talk."
"I know what it is about."
"You do?"
"Yes It's about Evie you are in love with her, and she loves you."
"How did you know?"
"She told me everything."
"So am I here so you can kill me?"
"What? No! I found a fire element."
"Wait another one?"
"Yes I didn't bring Evie here to marry me. I brought her here to be safe. See my future wife sensed she was in danger. I didn't know you were her protector."
"So why have my sister killed then?"
"She was the one sent to kill Evie I am so sorry Tristan."
If what he said was true my whole family was against me.
This war was even worse then I had thought.
I wondered why my sister came to see me after several years of not talking to me.
I wouldn't allow anyone to hurt her even if it meant killing my own family.
"Thank you for looking after her."
"Anything for you after all it is because of you I am alive. Come let's go eat with the ladies. I can't wait for you to meet my fiancee. She is a spit fire just like your Evie. They actually know each other. They were friends in school."
"Then my friend we are in for a wild ride."
I saw Evie sitting talking to another girl.
My heart sped up at the sight of her.
I knew with her by myside we could make it through anything.
