Y/n -

After what seemed like centuries of Aaron carrying me around, we finally arrived at our destination. It wasn't what he said it was though. This was no guard station. It was his camp, the one near the forest. "Why did I find you here?" He asked. I stayed silent. "Answer me."

"Make me." I remarked.

"Alright." Then Aaron tackled me to the ground and pinned my wrists to the dirt. I groaned in pain as my wound was touching the soil. "Tell me who poisoned you and why."

"No."

"Alright, well if you aren't going to tell me, I guess I'll have to occupy my time by hmm... let's see... ooh! By breaking this stick." Aaron stood up and held my bo staff above his knee, about to snap it.

"STOP! I'll tell you."

"Go on." He put the staff on the ground. I reached for it, but he kicked it away.

"Ugh, it was Zane Ro'Meave."

"Why would Zane poison you?"

"Because he wanted me to do something that I wouldn't do if I didn't have to."

"And what did he want you to do?"

"What do you think? You found the knife in the wall of Aphmau's bedroom."

"I still don't understand."

"He wanted me to kill her for him dumbass."

"So, you're an assassin?"

"What? No! Which is exactly why he had to threaten to poison me if I didn't get her head to him within a week. I failed to fulfill his request, so he hit me with the consequences. Is that explanation easy enough for you to understand?"

"It is, thank you very much." He kicked my staff over to me. I cautiously picked it up and stood. "So, were you going to do it?"

"I was at first, but I couldn't. She deserves to live way more than I ever could."

"And why do you say that?"

"What's up with all these questions? We shouldn't even be talking right now. I have to go."

"No you don't." He grabbed my wrist as I tried to run away. "You're not fit enough to go exploring the forests on your own. You just woke up from being dead for Irene's sake!"

"You don't care." I ripped my wrist away from him and jumped into the nearest tree. He started following, so I had go onto the weaker trees. He has to weigh more than me. So I can go onto the weaker branches and he'll just fall out.

But to my surprise, he didn't fall. Instead, he caught up and pinned me against one of the trees. "Stop running. You're gonna get yourself hurt."

"What the fuck is wrong with you?"

"You just died, and I'm not letting you die again."

"Don't worry, you won't have to worry about me once I'm gone. You can just make out with the lord you have. She's pretty. You'll forget about me in no time."

"What?! I-" Before Aaron could finish his sentence, I pushed him out of the tree and booked it.

Right when I caught y/n, I pinned her down and tried to stop her, but she escaped. She told me to go make out with Aphmau so I could forget about her? I don't like Aphmau like that anymore. I don't know why, but it just stopped. My love for Aph just disappeared when I met...y/n.

I was running for about 30 minutes when I started to feel exhausted. I was sweating for the first time in years. It's because my body just died for a bit, right? I shook away my thoughts and rested on a tree trunk for a while. After a brief nap, I luckily woke up untouched and in the same area. I picked up my staff and started to swing it around so I could get used to it again. I decided that I should probably get training again, since I felt a little rusty. I made a dummy out of dirt, twigs, leaves, and rocks I found around the forest. I set it up and started training myself again. Ahh, this brings back old memories. 17 year old me, done with being terrified and on the run. Finally figuring out how to defend herself. To think that was only 3 years ago.

Every swing hit harder, with a swifter motion. I was starting to get my groove back when I sensed someone coming up behind me. Is this Aaron? No... he knows how to control his presence well... "I can sense you." I exclaimed. The person stopped for a moment, then kept inching towards me again. "Just stop now and I won't hurt you... that badly." They were about to swing at my head when I ducked and struck them in the crotch, then I hit them upside the head. It was a bandit. Such pathetic little creatures. They can only progress themselves in life by stealing from other people. "You know, I could let you run away, but that wouldn't be very good, since you could gang up on me and try to turn me in for loads of money. So, instead I'm just gonna put you out of your pitiful, miserable life." I quickly moved my staff so I could snap his neck in one swift movement. He immediately died, and I moved his corpse over to a ditch. Ehh, someone else can bury him when they walk by.

I kept training myself and finally gained my strength back. I might not have the same stamina I did before, but I'll build that back up eventually.

I gave up on y/n and went back to town. I looked for Aphmau, just to make sure she's alright. She was talking to Zoey, probably about what happened before. She saw me and hugged me. "Are you okay Aaron?!"

"I'm fine."

"Then explain that scratch on your arm."

"I fell out of a tree."

"Fell? Or pushed?"

"That doesn't matter. Are you okay Aphmau?"

"I'm perfectly fine."

"Okay, good. Now I need you to come with me for a moment. If you don't mind Zoey."

"It's no problem! I'll see you two later I guess!" Zoey waved goodbye and I led Aphmau to my camp.

"What's up Aaron?"

"Aphmau, I don't know what's happening."

"What do you mean?"

"It's the Iron Heart. I don't know. It's weird. She's not any ordinary person and I don't know why."

"Aaron, she's a killer. You're probably just crushing on her because she's pretty." Aphmau mocked.

"What!? No. I don't like her that way. I don't like her in general. But she's been making me feel all weird. Like, when she died, it felt like something went missing."

"Um... uh... I don't know what to say Aaron."

"Neither do I to be honest. I tried to stop her from leaving so I could talk to her about it, but she pushed me out of a tree and ran away. She told me to 'make out with your lord, she's pretty, you'll forget me in no time'." I explained. Aphmau blushed a little bit.

"Well, do you wanna test that theory?" Aphmau smirked.

"What?!" Aph leaned in for a kiss and I hesitantly returned it, but not feeling anything at all. It was no different than kissing a wall. I pulled away. "I-I'm sorry Aphmau. I can't do this right now." I got up and left, wandering into the forest, alone.

I was wandering through the forest, and then I came across something I didn't think I'd actually ever see. I ended up finding Aaron's camp again, but he was sitting with that lord of his. She was staring into his eyes and then leaned in for a kiss. He kissed her back as well. My heart dropped to my stomach for a second, but then Aaron pulled away. A wave of relief just took over my body for some reason. Then I noticed he picked up his sword and started walking towards the forest, leaving Aphmau behind. I started to sweat again when I noticed that he was coming in my direction. Did he see me? That's why I'm sweating right? What's happening.....
