::Chapter 1:: Dallas?

okay before we start can I just say something lol I wrote this book when I was really young (I still but) so this book isn't one of my best, some is of it is unedited, people say acronyms out loud that kind of thing lmao thanks for reading though I really appreciate it xoxo

Albaney POV

"Man what the heck is wrong with me?? Am I crazy?! I'm crazy aren't I? I mean I can't just go up to the guy and ask him out. I don't even know if he's allowed to date! I don't even know if I'M allowed to date! UGH Chantelle help!" I was screaming in the phone mouth piece so bad that spit flew everywhere.

This. Is the story. Of my screwed life. Is it possible to have a screwed life in only fifth grade? It started out there. And now I'm a Freshman. And it still continues. Like WTF.

"Albaney STFU. Calm your damn self down and go eat a hot dog or something. I gotta go. Call you in like....40 minutes. Try not to die of tears."

"It's not like I'm going through the great depression geez."

"Mmhmm. Yeah whatever."

"Meanie."

"It's what I do. Bye."

"Bye."

I hung up the phone and went to the fridge to get supplies to make myself a milkshake.

It was Sunday. When I got back from church, I couldn't wait to just sit down and maybe watch American Idol or something. But instead, I called Chantelle.

Anyway, I was in my gray sweat pants and my green Hello Kitty shirt with the words "Too cute for you." splattered on it.

I got out a few supplies and went over to the Nutri Bullet to make my sour strawberry with cherry milkshake.

When I was done, I grabbed my phone off the table and when upstairs to my room.

I sat on the bed and started to go on Instagram while I sipped down my smoothie. Five new likes. Three new friend requests. One direct message. Didn't feel like checking my direct messages because I knew it was either from Javion or Jewls and I didn't want to take the risk of seeing anything Javion right now.

I put down my phone and simply sipped my milkshake.

Then I heard the home phone ring.

"Milkshake....I'll see you in a little while." I said.

I put my milkshake on the dresser and went downstairs to pick up the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hi can I talk to Albaney?"

"This is her."

"Hey it's Angel."

"Oh hey what's up?"

Angel is my cousin from my mom's side. She's 16 years old but older than me because her birthday was in January. She's as crazy as me and that's not even possible.

"You coming to my house today?"she asked.

"I don't know. You act like I can drive."

Don't even ask why I can't drive yet...just..don't.

"Well I just heard my mom on the phone with your mom. Your mom and dad are going to Dallas for some birthday party."

"What??! Geez my parents don't tell me anything anymore!"

Right then my mom called me from her room.

"Albaney! Call your brother and get ready! We're going to Auntie Rose's house!"

I rolled my eyes. "Okay. Look's like we're going to your house."

"I know I heard. Aye remember to bring back my shirt I left at your house last time."

"Kay. See ya there."

"Cool. Bye."

"Bye."

I hung up the phone and went up stairs to tell my little brother Nathan to dress up. As usual, he was taking a bath.

Now you may think that a person who has a thing against baths are dirty.

But the thing is,

I don't have a thing against baths.

I have a thing against Nathan's baths.

All the guy does is puts some toys in the bathtub and waste water. He doesn't even put soap on. Plus, if you don't remind him to get out, he'll fill the whole bathroom. Then, he'll run around naked for ten minutes.

No lie.

So now I make it a game to get Nathan out of the shower.

I went to the light switch (which was conveniently on the outside of the door) and turned off the light.

Call me evil. ;)

"Hey who turned of the light!??" He yelled.

Heh heh heh...

"Nathan! Help! Please!" I yelled like I was being murdered.

"Albaney??"

"Nathan! Chidi is here! He's trying to kill me! He turned of the power and tied me up!"

"NOO!"

Chidi was Nathan's "fake imaginary friend" last year. He said he would kill him and his family. This guy was only in second grade. Who knew drama like that can start so early?

I could hear Nathan jumping out the bathtub and falling on the floor.

I grabbed the Lightning McQueen flashlight on the table and slowly opened the door saying "I'm coming for you next" in a dark voice.

Nathan screamed so loud I'm pretty sure I heard a pigeon slam into our windows and die.

When he saw it was just me, he tried to come at me but I moved to the other side. He crashed into the carpet.

"Go put on your clothes. We're going to Angel's house." I said.

"You've GOTTA STOP DOING THAT!" he yelled.

"And YOU'VE got to stop wasting water on your fat little naked body." I said while casually strolling downstairs.

I went to my parents room and knocked on the door.

"Mom? Can I come in?"

"Come in."

I walked in and found my mother putting on eyeliner.

"Mom. You don't tell me ANYTHING anymore." I said as I sat on the table.

"What do you mean?"

"Dallas?!"

"Oh yeah. We're going to Dallas."

I rolled my eyes. "Thanks mom, I feel so much better and filled with information."

"So who's birthday is it anyway?" I asked.

"Auntie Darline."

"Don't know who that is."

"You don't know who half of your relatives are."

"Don't blame me mom! You and dad have a big family. I can't keep up. Dad has like one brother and fifteen sisters or something."

"Ehh. The circle of life?" She replied as she put on her gold hoop earrings.

"No. The circle....of the Smitth family."

I got off the table and went over to my mom to go tie the ribbon on the back of her dress.

"Wait a minute mom...The trip is in Dallas and your dressing up now? Can't you dress up there?"

My mom considered this for a second. Then she finally replied "UGH! Now you tell me! Untie the belt for me will ya."

I laughed.
