heaven.
that was the feeling manhattan sunrises gave tyler. from the feeling of the gentle breeze filtered through the pristine buildings or the way the sky became painted with hues so unimaginably beautiful, the frail boy was infatuated. it was mornings like these that made tyler okay again, content with breathing the air that surrounded him.
tyler's first day at his new high school was today and the poor kid was a bundle of nerves, overthinking every possible scenario that could play out. he sat up lazily, staring out of his windows as the sunrise continued, slinking slowly to his closet to pick out an outfit for the day. tyler looked at the assortment of lightly colored clothing, reaching for a pale yellow and white striped tee and a sweet pair of shorts, along with a pair of soft, lilac underwear. the boy headed for the shower, immediately collecting his assortment of toiletries and adjusting the shower knobs. once ty had soaped up and rinsed his angel bod, he begin the task of his hair, wrapping his towel around himself. he spent a few dastardly minutes drying and fluffing it up, satisfied with his creation.
tyler head back to his room, picking up the outfit he had previously laid out and put it on, adjusting and rearranging the slightly oversized garments to his liking. after that, he was almost done, finishing the routine with a splash of makeup; tinted moisturizer, mascara, eyebrow gel, lipgloss and some highlight. he was soon out the door, writing a note for his mama and slipping on his socks and his white keds.
tyler had reached the subway station, and plowed through the busy groups of people, his anxiety settling a bit now that he had grown accustomed to the station madness. he boarded his train and put his headphones in, the sounds of alt-J blaring into his skull.

ty had gotten off his train, heading to a teeny little coffee shop off 2nd and east 23rd, just a few minutes away from the school.

he had entered the shop unnoticed, slipping in line and ordering a small caramel iced latte with soy; his name being mistaken, of course

he had entered the shop unnoticed, slipping in line and ordering a small caramel iced latte with soy; his name being mistaken, of course. the path to the school was continued, and once he had arrived in the yard, tyler was brimming with nerves. he dug through his bag, grabbing his "emergency pills" his mom packed for him. he took half of one and put them away, taking out his comic instead. ty had planted himself under a shady tree, reading and sipping. that was, of course, until the poor boy was nailed in the back of the head by a hacky sack. the owner of said hacky sack had ran over, tyler's eyes watering. the boy with the sable locks that had ran over stared at poor tyler, in awe and captivated by his demure beauty. he was quick, though, to realize the boy was in pain and needed assistance. the boy held his hand out to tyler, speaking to him in a soft tone.
"hey darlin', i'm brendon; my friend didn't mean to hit 'cha back there, he was just playing. do you need help up, hun?"
tyler looked at him with wide eyes and a raging blush, nodding then looking down. brendon chuckled lowly, grabbing ty by his waist and pulling him up with him. once both boys were standing, brendon had asked for tyler's name, getting a stuttering and high-pitched answer. brendon beamed, rejoicing in the presence of this newly-acquainted angel. soon enough the bell had rang and the boy's parted ways, a shy wave exchanged between the two.
while brendon caught up with his friends, his train of thought never left tyler; he was infatuated.

and he hoped, by god he hoped, that he saw that radiant boy once more.
