***************

Mornings, for me, are the worst part of the day. Especially on Monday's. I think that Monday morning's were simply meant to torment people who like to sleep. Unfortunately, no matter what I thought, I still had to get up this lovely Monday morning (sarcasm there, just in case you didn't catch it).

I opened my eyes and started at the ceiling. The was a little light coming through my dark curtains, as it was summer. I looked over at the clock.

6:30

I knew I had to get up but I really didn't want to. My body was so comfy, and all I really wanted to do was just to drift off back into my dream where I had Ryan Reynolds as a personal slave. My mind though, was thinking logically. I had to get up as this was the day before my Chemistry exam and I needed drastic help with it. Chemistry was nonsense to me. Numbers and letters should never go together in my mind.

Finally, I slipped my legs out of the warm haven of my bed and slipped some socks on, so that my feet wouldn't get cold on the tiled floor in the kitchen. I crept out of my room and stood still on the landing. I could hear soft snores drifting through my Dad's room. I glared at the door, envious that he could sleep but I couldn't. I jumped onto the banister and slid down it, until I landed quietly on the beige carpet. I smiled at my awesome talent. It had taken a long time to perfect that banister slide, and a lot of injuries as well.

I walked softly into the kitchen. The cold of the tiles seeped through my socks and onto my feet. I curled my toes at the sensation but carried on my journey to the cereal cupboard. I pulled out some Coco Pops and poured them into a bowl. I grabbed a spoon and made my way back upstairs. 'No milk?' I hear some people cry. No, no milk for me. I am a strictly dry cereal person. Some people say that that's weird. I must agree. But then again I like being weird, because weird means being different.

When I got back upstairs and jumped onto my bed. I crossed my legs and picked up the laptop from off my floor. I turned it on and sat watching it, occasionally popping a Coco Pop in my mouth, as it whirred itself into life.

I logged on and opened my emails. I sighed. Nothing interest. Nada. A couple of chain mail, some from the sales people but other than that nothing at all. I sighed and shut it back down as I licked the spoon clean.

I walked back down stairs, put my bowl into the kitchen sink and then walked into the garden, where my uniform hung on the line. The grass was cool under my feet, and a gentle breeze blew my hair across my face. I smiled. It was going to be a nice day - weather wise.

I pulled my clothes off the line and went to get changed. I really didn't like the uniform. It was a dark green jumper, with grey trousers/skirt. We should have a white buttoned top with the green tie. I however had my own take on it. I had a grey short skirt that hung loosely round my thighs, and a big dark green hoodie that I pulled over my white shirt. I also had green converse while everyone else had to wear the standard black leather. It's not that I'm special, or that I'm a problem child, I just don't like my individuality to be taken away from me. I'm not even that confident. You hear that I wear want I want, but I'm quite shy, but I like me that way.

Dad emerged from his bed just as I closed the door to my bedroom.

"You off, honey?" he said, sleeping.

"Yep" I said, as I skipped down the stairs.

"Okay, I won't be back tonight, I've got a conference in Poland which finishes Friday, I'll leave some money on the side, okay honey?" he said as he walked past me into the kitchen. I sighed. I didn't like it that Dad had to go away, but what he did was all he was really good at, so he couldn't find another job.

"Sure, Dad" I said, as I walked out into the hall. I picked up my bag and walked out the door. I called a goodbye but I got no reply. I walked out into the warm morning arm. The leaves on the pavement swirled around my feet as I walked to Lexie's house.

I walked up the path to her door, raised my hand to knock on the door when she opened the door. It was a proper comedy moment. We both stood still for a moment before laughing.

"Hey babes" she said, as she locked the door (her Mum works earlies).

"Hey" I replied. I would've said more but she had a look about her that said she had something amazing to say and if I didn't shut up and let her tell me, then I'd probably be hung. I was right and she turned round to me, very excited.

"You will never guess what has happened" she squealed, holding on to my arm and jumping up and down as we walked.

"What?" I asked, smiling.

"Mr. Dario fell over and broke his leg" she said, grinning. I groaned.

"He can't have, we have a Chemistry test tomorrow, he was going to save me from failing tonight" I said, now feeling terrible about tomorrow.

"Don't worry, they haven't given us a supply teacher who doesn't actually know anything about the subject she's teaching" Lexie said, grinning. "They've got someone who'll be taking over permanently." I sighed. I suppose that was something. I would've preferred Mr. Dario because he understood me well, but I suppose this new teacher will have to do.

Just as I was thinking this we walked into the school grounds and straight into the corridors. There were no lockers here, which all of us complained about but none got put in.

"Come on, I need to go tell Jackson and Marie" Lexie squealed and I followed her as she skipped through the door to our homeroom. Miss. Carter sat still at her desk, her eyes glued to some piece of text. I shrugged and didn't bother to say hi and disturb her. Instead I walked to where Jackson and Marie were sat. Lexie was stood up and animatedly telling the about the new teacher. I sat down in one of the free chairs and Jackson smiled at me. He was a sweet boy. He had moved here from America but had never lost his American accent. He had a big thing for Lexie, but she didn't know anything about it. Me and Marie think it's ridiculous because he can't leave any more hints.

The bell rang and Lexie fell silent. Miss. Carter took the register and then we all started to talk quietly.

"So what do you think he's going to be like?" Marie said.

"Who?" I asked. God, I really wasn't with it today. Well, like I said, I'm no morning person.

"The new Science teacher" Jackson said. I nodded to show I understood.

"How do you know he's a he?" I asked. Marie just shrugged.

"I have a feeling" she said. I laughed. Marie thought she had special abilities. I suppose you could call it psychic. She always had feelings about things. To be fair, she was often right. I smiled to myself. Me, Lexie, Jackson and Marie. We were the outcasts of the school. The odd balls of society, but I don't think I'd have it any other way.

"I bet he's old" Lexie said, moaning. I shrugged. It didn't really matter who it was to me, as long as he helped me pass my Chemistry exam tomorrow.

The bell rang again and well all got up.

"We'll see you in a bit" Lexie said, and her and Marie walked off as they didn't have Science like me and Jackson did.

"Come on then, Rex" he said, smiling. "Let's go find out who the new teacher is." You may be wondering why I have such an odd name. I don't. My name is Rochelle but you can't really shorten it so the guys came up with Rex.

Jackson pulled my arm and we leant up against the wall next to our Science room as it wasn't open yet. We chatted for a little bit before I heard the door open. The moment of truth, I thought as I turned round, but as soon as I had I wished I hadn't. This man was gorgeous. He had dark brown hair, which hung over his eyes ever so slightly. His face was round, but he had a pointed chin. He had faint stubble that traced it's way around his chin. His lips were thin but full, and his nose was dead centre. I looked up at his eyes and again wished I hadn't. They were a vivid green but they almost sparkled. Oh, God what did I sound like. I sounded like I was falling in love on the spot - which I am not by the way. I moved my gaze down to see he was wearing tight black jeans that clung to him in all the right places. He had a pale blue shirt, and over the top was a tight, cashmere jumper. Navy blue. I shivered. How could someone look so good?

Well at least I knew one thing. This extra help with Chemistry was going to be interesting.
