Rex's POV
I felt light on my feet as I walked towards the table in the canteen for lunch. Jenson hadn't just dropped me, I knew that now, and god it felt good. I could also definitely say I liked him now, without sounding like a love sick teenager. Which I'm not.
"Hello" said Jackson, smiling as I sat down. I grinned at him, noticing he had his arm casually slung round Lexie's shoulder. Lexie herself was grinning like crazy and I couldn't help grin at her, knowing exactly how she was feeling. Marie smiled slightly as she moved over to let me sit down.
"Sooo..." Jackson said, a knowing look in his eye. I rolled my eyes at him.
"So, what?" I asked, trying to look innocent. Marie sighed.
"What did you talk to Mr. Roger's about?" she said, with a little smile. I shrugged and looked down at my food to hide the blushing.
"Just about extra biology lessons" I lied. Lexie growled.
"When are you going to tell us something juicy?" she whined, like a deprived child. I smiled slightly and started to pick at my food, not really hungry. My stomach had tied itself into knots. Marie, thank god, seemed to notice that I didn't want to talk about it so she started up a conversation with Lexie about Saturday's planned. I listened a little but was too busy thinking about what was happening with Jenson. I couldn't really talk to him again today, because it would look too obvious and plus I'd look slightly obsessive.
The bell rang for the end of lunch and I got out, my mind somewhere else and followed Marie to PE. Where everyone began to hate having me on their team just because I was so out it that the ball kept hitting me in the face. Marie found it amusing though.
Finally the day ended and instead of walking with Lexie I left early. I didn't want to be alone with her, all the questions that would come my way. I shuddered at the thought and walked down the alley that lead down to the park with the lake. It was empty, which was odd for this time. I liked it though. I walked over to one of the swings and rested my head against the bar that attached it to the big oak tree. I looked over the lake watching the swan swimming about, powerful, owning it. I smiled to myself, but just then I heard footsteps coming up behind me. I sighed, expecting to be bullied off the swing by some over sized students. I was surprised when the footsteps stopped just behind me. I continued to stare at the lake, not sure what to do with the person behind me. But then the person spoke.
"Hello" the person said quietly, and I knew the voice immediately. It was like I had known that voice all my life, not around 2 weeks. I stood up, and turned around. Jenson stood, awkwardly with his hands in his pockets, looking ashamed of himself.
"What are you doing here?" I whispered shocked that he had found me here. He smiled sheepishly.
"I just missed you" he said, looking at his feet as he shuffled slightly. I smiled, and I felt that warm feeling spread through me, reaching from my toes to the tip of my head. If he made me feel this good just by being here, how could he make me feel when we...
"I missed you too" I whispered back, dragging my thoughts away from that. He grinned at me, and ran towards me from where he was standing.
"This is going to be difficult, us, but if you really feel that this is right..." he said trailing off at the end, leaving the unspeakable, unspoken.
"I know this is right" I said, as his arms wrapped around waist, pulling me towards him. His mouth met mine, and I could feel it smiling as his tongue traced my lips as his mouth moved in perfect rhythm with mine. Finally I pulled back a looked up at him, his vivid green eyes looking back down at me. I couldn't tell what he was feeling but his eyes seemed to look warmer than usual.
"What happens if people find out?" I asked, looking up at him. He smiled.
"Let's just not think about it, right now it's just you and me" he whispered, kissing the base of my neck. I smiled. It was just him and me. Jenson and Rochelle. Together. Not giving a damn about what the world thought. But caring enough to hide from it.
