Rex's POV

"Good morning everyone" he said, his mouth smiling slightly and his eyes twinkling. I stood there, my body shaking like crazy, though I didn't know why. The new teacher held the door open and students started to file in. Jackson poked me hard in the back when I didn't move. I clumsily put one foot in front of the other. I looked up at the teacher and he was looking down at me, smiling slightly. His eyes wandered over my individualised uniform and smirked slightly. I smiled back as I quickly tried to run past him but I tripped and fell into him. I heard Jackson's laughs echo behind me but they seemed to disappear as the teacher put his arms on my shoulders and helped me upright.

"Thanks" I whispered, not able to make any more sound. He smiled at me again.

"No problem." I shivered at his voice. Jackson pushed me into the room and we found seats at the back of the room. As soon as I was away from him my head cleared and I realised how much of a fool I had just looked. I groaned and hit my head on the desk hard. Jackson snorted in laughter.

"Well someone has a schoolgirl crush" he said, smirking like he knew everything. I growled at him.

"I don't like him" I said, feeling a lot more like myself. I meant what I said as well. I didn't like how he had the power to mess with my mind. I didn't like him.

"Sure you don't" Jackson whispered, as the new teacher took his place at the front of the class.

"Right, introductions. I'm Mr. Rogers, I'll be your new Science teacher for the next year" he said, smiling. "Now, we're going to go round the room and I want you to tell me something about you" he said. Kelly started off and I tuned it all out until suddenly I heard my name being called.

"Rochelle?" Mr. Rogers called. I looked up, snapping out of my day dream.

"Yes Sir?" I asked, as I sat on my hands as they had started to shake.

"Name and something about your lovely self" he said, smiling. My insides tingled at his compliment.

"Well you already know my name, and something about myself: I don't share things about myself to people I don't know" I said, smiling sweetly. He chuckled.

"Very wise" he said before moving onto the next person. I let out a deep breath. My hands weren't shaking as much anymore but I still felt a little unstable. As soon as Jackson had said what he had to he leant over.

"Smooth" he said with a wink. I hit him gently and concentrated back onto Mr. Rogers. He was smiling at everyone he spoke to, but it didn't seem like the smile he gave me. No. Stop it, Rochelle. Jesus Christ, you are now making yourself delusional. He doesn't even know you to like you. I argued with myself for a while until the bell went.

We all stood up and started to put our books in our bag. Jackson went to leave but I stayed where I was, dreading what I now had to do.

"You not coming?" he asked. I shook my head.

"I need to talk to Sir" I said, distantly.

"Well, don't try and chat him up or anything" Jackson said with a wink. I rolled my eyes as he made his way out the door.

By now everyone had gone and it was just Mr. Rogers sat at his new desk. My hands were shaking again, but worse than before. I balled them into fists and took a deep breath. Here goes nothing.

"Sir?" I asked, as I walked up to his desk. He looked up and smiled.

"What can I do for you, Rochelle?" he said, putting down his pen and putting his full concentration onto me. I felt a little under pressure and I could feel myself getting hotter but I concentrated on what I was going to say.

"I was just wondering if you could give me a hand with Chemistry before the big test tomorrow?"I said, crossing my fingers behind my back, not knowing whether I was hoping for him to say no or yes. His face broke out into a grin.

"Sure, I'd be happy to help, is after school for a bit alright with you?" he asked.

"Yes" I said, trying not to smile that I got to spend time alone with him.

"Fantastic, I'll see you then" he said, as he turned back to his work again.

"Yeah, see you" I said as I walked out the door and into the cool corridor. I sighed as the cool air hit me as it cleared my head again. I swear talking to him I had been more nervous that I had ever been. Which was just silly. I shook myself and made my way to the big tree outside, where we all hung out at break.

Mr. Rogers POV

I smiled to myself. It was my first day and I already had the chance to make a difference to a student's education. I had just watched Rochelle Michaels walk out of the door, her small figure waving gently side to side. What? Don't judge me, I'm allowed to appreciate it. She seemed like a good kid. Very intelligent. There was something about her that I couldn't figure out though, which is strange because I am so good at understanding people. She seemed very individualized, which was good, a very endearing quality.

Well at least I was going to have one interesting student this year, I though, as I concentrated back on the marking I had been left.
