"Hello? Daisy? Are you still there? I can't hear you?" muttered the voice of my best friend on the other end of the phone. "DAISY?! Talk to me! I know you're still there, I can hear your breathing!" she began to yell.
"For real? You're not winding me up, are you?" I whispered down the phone to her.
"Yes, seriously. You breathe like a serial killer!" she joked down the phone to me. My nasal problems meant I always had to breathe deeply through my mouth.
"No, I mean the other thing. You've really bought them?" I asked, a little more seriously. She seemed to be avoiding the question.
"Oh that. Yes! My mum just ordered them a minute ago! I'm reading the confirmation email as we speak! I can't believe it!" she screeched down the phone to me.
I fell silent once again. The hairs on my arms and legs began to stand on end before my entire body went numb with excitement. No, excitement wasn't the word. There isn't a word in existence to describe how I felt when Niamh told me she had ordered the tickets. It was actually going to happen. For real.
