" Skylar go get the mail" Aunt Kay said to me while she fixed breakfast.

I gladly got up from the table and put my shoes on. I walked out into the warm air, the summer sun hitting my already tanned skin as soon as I stepped off the porch of our house. As I walked down our driveway, I kicked rocks out from under my feet. I reached our mailbox and opened it. I looked inside and there was mail piled almost to the top.

"C'mon Aunt Kay. Would it have killed you to get the damn mail?" I muttered to myself. I grabbed the pile out of the mailbox and shut the door. I walked back up the driveway and into the house. I layed it on the kitchen table and started looking through it. A bunch of Aunt Kay's dumb magazine subscriptions, bills, bills and more bills, People trying to get you to buy something you don't need. I had got to the end of the pile and a letter was laying on the bottom. It was addressed to me. I looked who it was from and it said, "Karen Johanson. 43200 2nd street London, England, U.K." Why in the world would my mom be sending me a letter? I haven't seen her in maybe 10 years.

" Aunt Kay? Come here!" I commanded.

" Yes?" Aunt Kay said coming to stand beside me. I showed her the letter. She took it from my hands and began reading it. Her expression went from happy to confused to sad. She took the letter and went and got the phone. She dialed up a number and threw the letter on the floor. She went to her room and closed the door. Confused, I went and picked the letter up from the floor. I read it and it said

" Dear Skylar,

I know you haven't seen me since you were four years old. I'm your mom and I want you to come and live in London. I want to spend time with you. It's already been arranged. You don't have a choice since I'm still your legal guardian. You'll be living with One Direction. You leave at the end of May. I've already scheduled you a flight with first class. Get ready cause it'll be here soon. Call me if you have questions, 400-853-7854 ( I don't know if that's a real number but just go with it.)                Love,    Mom.

I threw the letter in the trash and ran out the door. I went to the only place I could be alone. The tree house my dad had built for me. I climbed up the ladder tears escaping my eyes. I sat in the corner for a while. Aunt Kay came up the ladder.

"Do I really have to go?" I asked.

" I talked to your mom. She said you either go or she'll sue or something like that. I don't think she really cares as long as you go to London." Aunt Kay started.

"It'll be okay. It's gonna be an adventure. A new chapter in your book of life" Aunt Kay finished.

" I can't believe this is happening to me. Why now?" I asked.

" Everything happens for a reason. You better start packing it's almost the end of May." Aunt Kay said climbing back down the ladder and going inside.

I'm not very good at prologues so this probably sucks but I tried.
