Skylar's P.O.V

"UUGGGHHHHH! Moving is a bitch" I said to my Aunt Kay.

"Sweetheart I know but you'll be able to spend more time with your mother" Aunt Kay said helping me pack my stuff.

" Mom is making me move to a whole other country 3,000 miles away. She's making me leave everything and everyone I know behind. If she wanted to be with me she should have never taken the job. All she cares about is money, she never wanted to be a mother. I was a mistake." I said angrily flopping down in the bean bag chair in the middle of the floor.

"Skylar, don't say that. You'll make new friends and I'll call you and Skype. Everyone will keep in touch. It'll be like you're still here." Aunt Kay said rubbing my arm trying to comfort me.

It was nice and all but it wasn't really working. " But Aunt Kay that's not the point Mom left me to live somewhere more high class. I'm just a country hick I won't fit in with everyone else." I said sadly looking up at Aunt Kay.

" Baby you weren't made to fit in with the other people. You were made to stand out and be yourself. As long as you stay true to yourself and don't go all city slicker on me you'll be fine." Aunt Kay laughed.

I looked up and smiled at her." Thanks Aunt Kay." " When do I have to leave?" I asked while putting some of my things in the bags I'm taking with me.

" You leave on Monday." Aunt Kay said helping me with all my stuff.

Today is Friday. That means I've got three and a half days of my old life with all my friends.

" Would you mind when we finished with some of this, if I walk around town for a little while?" I asked. I really wanted to remember everything about Bailey, Texas.

" Yeah, that would be fine, just don't get into any trouble, You can go now if you want I'll finish up here" Aunt Kay said.

" Really? Thanks Aunt Kay I love You" I said cheered up.

" I'll go so you can do whatever, Just be back before it gets dark." Aunt Kay said and left the room.

I was wearing my pj's, so I got from the bean bag chair and went to my dresser. All my clothes were still there. We hadn't gotten around to packing them yet. I grabbed my American Flag tank top, my favorite holey jeans and a pair of socks. I slipped on the jeans and bucked the belt. I pulled the tank- top over my head. I sat in my beloved bean bag chair once again and put on my socks. I went over to my closet and grabbed a pair of boots and slipped my feet into them. My hair looked terrible when I looked in the mirror for the first time today. I brushed my blonde, beach wavy hair out. I opened my jewelry box and got the heart entwined with an infinity sign necklace my Dad got me for my birthday before he died. I never went a day without wearing it. It was so important to me. If I ever lost it I don't know what I'd do. I looked in the mirror one last time, happy with the way I looked I opened my bedroom door and went downstairs.

From the stairs I went straight to the kitchen when I smelled Aunt Kay's famous hamburgers. I went over to the kitchen table and sat down. I propped my head up with my hand and let out a sigh.

" Skylar, what's wrong?" Aunt Kay asked walking over to me with Hamburgers in a plate.

" I just realized this will probably be the last time I will ever eat your hamburgers." I said looking at Aunt Kay.

" Then make it last Sweetheart." She smiled and went back to her cooking.

" Well thanks for making me so much happier" I said sarcastically with a wide grin spread across my face.
