'We're going to leave this room. I'm not safe here or in the real world. There's something wrong.'

She only closed her eyes for a moment when she started falling.

"What exactly did you say happened?" Those words greeted her when she opened her eyes. The entire world was blurred up and everything ached in her body.

Nathan and the maid were at her right while an unknown doctor stood at her left. The bear was nowhere to be seen. Neither was the chair.

Her mind was foggy. The last thing she remembered was Drew reaching for her as she started falling in the chair.

It confused the hell out of her, that she was dreaming one second and then waking up the next.

Her mind whirled and the voices were drowned by the pounding of her head. She only managed to catch snippets of the conversation.

She was having an out of body experience where she felt like an onlooker in the scene. Her fingers twitched without her control, and then her dry voice mumbled incoherent words. Like a baby learning to use their mouth for the first time.

Altaria was definitely not in control of her body.

Then, her ears finally grasped the question that the people in the room had been discussing.

"Nathaniel, what exactly happened to the girl? I have to write up a report and I can't do that if you are unwilling to provide me with the information."

Her sight adjusted slightly but she still couldn't see clearly. So, shakily, she turned to where she suspected the doctor was positioned at.

"They tried to kill me...A man and woman wanted to kill me."

Her dried lips cracked with the effort to say the few words. After her voice broke out, they all looked at her in shock.

Her eyes, foggy with unuse, glanced back and forth between Nathan and the doctor.

The doctor frowned and looked to Nathan.

"Nathaniel. When your maid called me, she implied that there was an injured girl who lay inside her room. She told me that an accident had occurred. If it is the case that this young woman was injured because of petty thieves, then you should have called the constable not me." With that said he packed his bag and immediately left.
