The devil's lethal tool

Devil is a very cunning creature who is very skilled in the art of DECEPTION. One of his lethal tool is twisting the word of God. He twists God's words to suit his purpose.

Gen 3 verse 1 says: ESV:Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God actually say, 'You shall not eat of any tree in the garden'?"

Let's examine that. Devil knew what God's order is and he wanted man to break it. He then employed a very tactic move. The first thing he did was to question God's order and in doing so, he twisted it.
Now this is how the devil works; craftily. You read the bible and he pops up some thoughts that'll make you question God's words.

Now let's look at Eve's reply in Genesis 3 verse 2 and 3; ESV:And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, 'You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'"

That was God's order. DO NOT EAT OF THE FRUIT OF THE TREE IN THE MIDST OF THE GARDEN
Straightforward order!

Now let's see what the cunning devil replied with in Genesis 3 verse 4; ESV:But the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die.

Can you see that? Satan's statement contradicts the order God gave.

Let's look at verse 5; ESV:For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

He's painting God as if God deliberately prevented them from eating the fruit because he didn't want them to be like him. But that was a lie. They were already like God; they were created in his image. God didn't want man to eat of the fruit because he knew the consequences that would follow if man had knowledge of good and evil. He knew man would choose the evil way which is destructive and will only lead to man's doom.

Satan said they wouldn't die. That was a lie. They died a spiritual death that moment they disobeyed God. Their relationship with God was severed. Though they didn't die on the spot, they later died as opposed to God's initial plan to man immortal.

What am I trying to say? Devil is in the business of painting a wrong picture of the word of God. This is one of his deadly tool and he's using it against believers. He pops up the thought and makes your doubt God's word. The moment you start doubting the word of God, the devil is succeeding.

We Christians should beware of this dangerous tool. Christianity nowadays is becoming something else. Everywhere, you see scriptures being twisted to satisfy carnal and fleshy desires. You see pastors and so called Christians twisting the words of the bible to justify their wrongdoings. Remember! God is no respecter of person. He won't lower his standard for anyone.

The issue of dressing is one part the devil is selling a big lie and unfortunately, we're buying it. Christians should dress modestly. That's what the bible commands. Nowadays, there's no distinct difference in dressing between a christian and a worldly person. You hear excuses of how God is more concerned about the state of the heart rather than the outward appearance. Most people seem to have forgotten that what's in the heart is what reflects out; and that includes your dressing.
As a christian, you can't just dress anyhow you like and feel comfortable with it while wallowing in the lie of the devil that what you wear really doesn't matter, all that matters is your heart. This is so wrong and we need to change.

God hates divorce yet you see even Christians divorcing. Why?

God says, do not be unequally yoked with an unbeliever yet you see Christians getting into relationships with people who have nothing to do with God while they wallow in the lie that they would change them. That's one big lie. No one can change anybody. God says, don't get yourself involved. Don't try to go around it and satisfy your carnal desires.

God says, flee fornication yet so many so called Christians engage in immoral acts.

The devil has so much led us into believing his lies. When God says something or asks us to do something, it's for our own good but most times we tend to go around God's word so we can satisfy the flesh.
We've condoned so many practices and acts that are wrong yet we keep justifying ourselves instead of admitting that we're wrong.
The bible has now been diluted. Preachers of the word now preach what people want to hear and not what they need to hear.

Why can't we take God's words as it is?

Lastly, we need to be very careful and beware of erroneous teachings and lies from the pit of hell, as Christians. The bible is there as our guide. We shouldn't just swallow what some preachers tell us hook, line and sinker. We need to be sure it aligns with what the bible says. I pray God will grant us all the grace in Jesus' Name, Amen.
