In the beginning, everything was perfect and good. God created man in his image and He also gave him authority over everything he had created. When God created man, His intention was that man would have control over every other thing he created. But someone wasn't happy with this. Satan, the archenemy wasn't happy with the decision God made. He then decided to destroy everything. One certain thing was that God had warned them never to eat of that tree. Adam and Eve had been in the garden for quite some time now and they were familiar with everything in the garden. But when Satan approached Eve in guise of a serpent, he made the tree look so appealing that Eve couldn't resist. She forgot God's instruction and ate the fruit; the forbidden fruit. She gave some to Adam too and their eyes were open.
There was a fatal exchange there. Man exchanged his power and authority for a life full of troubles. All the authority God had bestowed upon him, he transferred to Satan in exchange for a worthless life. Satan who now had the power and authority, clung on to it. Getting it back is now very difficult. But all glory to God! The death of Christ has brought back that authority and power even though a lot of supposed Christians are still oblivious of this.
The devil is bent on dragging the whole human race to hell. The bible says he's like a roaring lion seeking whom to devour. The devil hasn't given up yet on man. He's still coming up with lots of wiles and schemes. A lot of lives are sinking down to hell daily and it looks like the devil is gaining grounds. The story of Adam and Eve is an analogy of what I'm yet to expatiate on.
The devil doesn't like it when things go well with us. He doesn't like it when it's like we've got everything under control. He looks for ways to destroy the ecstatic moments. He's angry when we're happy and happy when we're grieving. He looks for our soft spot; our weakness. Eve has obviously been seeing that tree everyday. The devil enticed her to the extent that when she looked upon the tree, she found it appealing. Satan paints things in a way that would look appealing to us. When Adam and Eve ate the fruit, their eyes were opened. A lot of people have been blinded by the lies of the devil. He has kept a lot of people in bondage. But I have good news for you! Christ has redeemed us from all bondages through his death on the cross. Satan no longer has any power whatsoever. All he can do is make empty threats.Have you exchanged your eternity for fleeting and worldly things? I want you to do a quick rethink. That's a fatal exchange! The devil deceives us into believing that following God doesn't worth. I beg to disagree. Following God is everything. You get to have a secured life here on earth and even in afterlife. This message is for someone out there. Don't exchange your eternity for lies and deceits of the devil. Why don't you hand your life over to God. Death might crawl in at anytime or worse still, the rapture can take place and believe me, it'd be too late to make amends. Turn to God now and your life will never remain the same.
