The next morning at school we all crowded around the bulletin board outside of the theater. As I wanted to see the board there was a chorus of "yes's" and "awe's" When the crowd of people started to thin out I walked up to the board, my eyes scanned the list until they fell upon the name Aurora, to the right of that was the name "Elas Arendelle" I smiled and went to go tell my friends before I saw Jack Frost's name next to the part of Prince Philip. My smile drops and I turn to go tell my friends. I walk up to first period, which was maths today. I sit in my normal spot in the middle of the room. When I sit down Punzie turns to face me, "Well..?" she prompts. I look over and smile "I got it" "OMG I knew you would" exclaims Punzie hugging me tightly. The rest of my friends enter the classroom and sit around me. Punzie, almost bouncing in her seat looks at me excitedly, I nod and Punzie basically shouts "Guys Elsa got the part" I smile as they all congratulate me.
School finishes and me, Punzie, Merida and Jennifer head to volleyball practice. We get changed and me being team leader so I lead the girls through a basic warm up. We finish just as couch walks in. "Take a knee" he says his voice echoing through the gym. All of us still panting get down on one knee in front of him. "So," he starts " We have our first game of the season next weekend. The Red Lady Lizards are coming here. We have to play our best, we can't loose the first game of the season. And It's against the Lizards, their easy to beat. I mean we've never lost to them before." We all nod understanding what he is saying. "Okay, position lady's" Mr. Lawfner claps . We all stand up and go to our positions.
"Thank you Mrs.DunBroch" I say shutting Merida's car door and walking up my driveway. Merida's mom had given me a ride home from volleyball. I walk into the house to find a pile of bags at the bottom of the stairs. I put my bag away and walk into the house "Oh hello sweetheart" My mother says scurrying past me. "Hello?" I ask quizzically wondering why there were so many bags "We had decided we should leave early" mother continues rushing by me again "oh" I say trying not to show my disappointment. I walk into the kitchen to make myself some toast and jam. After spreading the jam onto the toast and putting the things I used away, I take my plate upstairs.
I walk into my room and pull out my computer. I pull up my L.A home work where we are required to write a poem. Mrs. Taylor had you pick a world to base your poem around. My word was cold, I have no idea what I am going to do. I tep my finger thinking about what to write. After ea few minutes of thoughtless silence I groan and roll onto my pulling out my phone. I open message and text Punzie
Elsa: Heyyy
Punzie: Hey what's up?
Elsa: Nothing much wbu?
Punzie: oh I'm just finishing up my chores
Elsa: Cool, What was your poem about?
Punzie: My topic was warmth and I wrote about the sun making everyone happy by warming them up.
Elsa: Cool
Punzie: What's your topic about?
Elsa: I got cold and idk what to do
Punzie: Oh well i'm sure you'll think of something, it's not due for a while anyway.
Elsa:What?
Punzie: Tomorrow's the last day before Christmas break.
Elsa: OH ya, I forgot.
Punzie: Well I have to go ttyl
Elsa Okay ttyl
I put my phone down and hear the front door opening. I walk downstairs to see my parents carrying out bags to their car. "Anna" I call up the stairs as my parents drag the last bag outside. When they reenter the house Anna runs up and gives them a huge hug. When she lets go I walk up give both of them a small friendly hug and small smile. "Have fun" I say trying to sound happy for hem. They start to walk down the driveway and I wake standing in the doorway. Anna stands in front of me tears coming down her face as she frantically waves her arms and shouts good bye. We watch as they drive down the street before I place my hand on Anna's upper back and guide her into the house.
I walk back upstairs and into my bathroom, I fill up the bathtub with water and get in.Letting the hot water warm my body. I take out my favourite book, 'The Fault In Our Stars' and begin reading it again for what feels like the millionth time. About an hour later I get out of the bath and put my light blue robe on, and put my hair in a braid. I walk out into my bedroom to get changed. I open my dresser and pull out a long dark blue nightdress. I walk out of my bedroom and head down to the kitchen to make myself some hot chocolate. As I am walking back up the stairs I hear a quiet sob coming from down the hall. Sighing I walk to Anna's room and knock gently on the door. "Anna?" I call softly through the door "Can I come in?" there was a small pause before a quiet "Okay" came through the door. I open the tall cream colored door my hand trailing up the wooden frame decorated with blue and green designs. I see Anna curled up under her red bed sheets, I go sit at the end of her bed and try to think of what to say. "They will be back you know, they're just gone for the hallidays, only a month." I say "Yea but they've never been away for so long" Sobs Anna "I know, but what do you think they would say if they saw you like this, crying over something that's not going to change, it's only a month and then they'll be back, okay. I say standing up and walking back to my room.
When I enter my room I let out a long breath and sit on my bed. I take a sip of my hot chocolate and look up at my ceiling. I put my mug down and run my fingers together watching blue sparkles swarm around my fingers. I sigh and pull the bed sheets over my legs and fall asleep.
