It's the 28th, my 17th birthday. I woke up and showered, I did my hair like I normally did pinned to the back of my head and I put a black headband on. I put my black shirt on and my green dress. I did my makeup and slid my gloves on. Anna had made me breakfast so I ate and then went to the hall to see how the preparations were coming. They had already started setting up the Hall, and everything seemed to be in order, I checked that all the invitations had been sent, they had and I was good. My party is supposed to start at 5:30 PM, and then at 6:30 (my time of birth) everyone would sing happy birthday. But I was beyond nervous. No one but my parents new of my ice powers, and this is the first year I will have to do this without them.
I spent the next few hours getting everything ready. When the clock said 5:15 PM I go to my bedroom and look at myself in the mirror. I take a shaky deep breath "All you have to do is cut the cake" I whisper to myself "And then you are done" sighing I walk down the stairs my green dress moving with my legs. Anna is already waiting downstairs when I get there "Come on! We have to go" Anna says bouncing out of her skin. I smile and we walk out to the car together Betrude holds the door open for us and we get in. We drive to the Hall. We get out of the car. I stand outside the door "Conceal don't feel" I whisper to myself. I walk into the hall and a round of applause and all of my friends surround me "OMG WE MISSED YOU SOOOOO MUCH" Punzie basically screams "I missed you guys too" I say hugging them "Come on let's go eat" We walk into the dining hall and I sit at the head of the table, my friends sit next to me.
The waiters begin to bring food in and we all start eating and laughing. We talk about what we did over the break and what presents we got. Time was flying. Before I knew it they bells for 6:30 PM were ringing and they brought my cake in. they placed the vanilla cake in front of me it's blue icing shining. Next to the cake was a knife with a clear handle, shapes were engraved into the handle. I stand up and take a deep breath in. My breath was shaking. My friends and family all looked at me excitedly. "Conceal don't feel" I whisper to myself one more time before I take my gloves off. My hands were shaking. I pick up the knife and they begin singing "Happy Birthday to you" I try to steady my hands "Happy Birthday to you" I can feel my hands start to tingle " Happy Birthday dear Elsa" "Conceal, conceal don't feel" I whisper to myself again "Happy Birthday to you" I feel my hands start to get cold as my grandpa places a sparkly crown on my head and says " I announce you, Elsa Arendell, 17!!!" The room breaks out in applause. I can move the knife to the side of the cake and begin to cut. I look down at my hands and panic the knife is starting to freeze. I finish cutting the cake and quickly set the knife down and put my gloves back on. I take a deep breath and sit down "I did it" I think to myself. I smile at my friends as the waiters start to cut and hand out the rest of the cake.
