We pull up to a crowded club. I bite my lip as we park. The bass thumps through the cement walls. Stepping out of the car, the rest of the group pulls up next to us. John walks up to me, licking his lips. I roll my eyes at him and click off to the front door. Allie locks arms with me and we stand in front of the bouncer. He nods and opens the rope for us to enter.
The bright lights blind me for a moment. We walk to a large empty booth. I set my purse down and turn to get a drink.
"Rose," Elliot stands in front of me, smiling. "You look lovely."
"Thanks," I mumble and walk past him.
"Hey sexy," an attractive guy purrs from a bar stool. I smile sweetly at him. "Let me buy you a drink."
"Okay. I'll have a shot of jack with a coke," I flutter my eyelashes at him.
"You heard the lady," he barks at the bartender. Hastily, the bartender whips up a shot for me. I knock it back. "Impressive."
"Thanks," I smile again at him and walk away. Allie eyes me curiously.
"Who was that?" She asks, I shrug.
"Dunno, bought me a drink though."
Allie laughs. I sip on my coke.
"One more shot and then let's dance!" I giggle and ask the waiter for two 'shots. We down them and head to the dance floor. I sway my hips with the beat. Allie and I laugh as we dance.
"Elliot is looking at you," she giggles. I bite my lip. "Maybe you should ask him to dance."
"Yeah right. Like he would dance," I snort.
"You'll never know unless you ask."
"Maybe after a few more drinks," I laugh. My eyes lock with a guy across the club. He smiles at me. I smile back. He looks about twenty five years old. His head covered in short, blond hair. Not a hair out of place. Intense gold eyes. I blush as he stands and walks over to me.
"Hello," he stretches out his hand. I take it timidly. He brushes his lips against my knuckles. "I'm Henry."
"Rose," I say softly.
"Such a lovely name for a beautiful girl. Would you care to dance?" I look at Allie. She smiles at me and walks back to the booth. Elliot watches from afar.
"Sure," I turn and smile at him. He spins me and we are dancing.
We sway to the music. I smile like a silly little girl on a county fair ride for the first time. The song drifts off and we stop.
"Thanks for the dance," I smile and walk towards Allie. Henry grabs my wrist.
"How about another dance?" His eyes fill with lust.
"I think I'm going to go sit with my friends, but thank you." He releases his grip.
"Maybe later then," his voice drifts off. I frown and walk to the table.
"What was that about?" Allie whispers to me. I shrug.
"Misunderstanding I guess," I rub my wrist lightly.
"Rose, are you alright?" Elliot asks from across the table.
"Never been better," I smile at him. The waiter comes and hands me a shot.
"Courtesy of that gentleman over there," he points towards Henry.
"Rose, who is the shot from?" Elliot comes up to me as the waiter leaves.
