What is a smile, when turned upside down?
What is a happy heart when torn in two?
Pain, heartbreak, and frowning.
If I could say I'm sorry, I probably would.
But you've probably heard it,
Much more than you should.
I regret to inform you about our world.
Depression is a side effect,
Of not being loved.
And overdosing on prescription pills seems to be your only option of escape.
All these people, make life out to be easy,
No one ever told us, we could be okay.
That we have a say
In right or wrong,
That we can feel the way we want,
And be who we are freely.
After all, isn't this country based on freedom?
Then, why doesn't it feel like we don't own it?
Because every time we try something new,
And it's, or we're, unique or different,
They have to pick at us, and throw a fit.
It hurts us. More than they can imagine.
If they could understand,
If they could change their hearts,
Maybe in our movie called ' life '
We'd play different parts.
The world isn't seeing this.
The world can change.
Being who you are, isn't a side effect.
Changing the world starts with you.
Not a celebrity, or president, you!
Only you.
Not the depression, not the pills,
Not changing your life,
And being someone new.
Only you...-E ♥️
