Shadows

*beep beep beep *

My alarm rings off and it's officially six in the morning , i get up , brush my teeth , get changed and off we go .

It's like this everyday , just another basic day.

It's been like this for the past two weeks but this day was different , this day she hardly spoke to me and didn't even look me in the eye .

it almost seems that Eli just isn't Eli anymore.i can tell because i know her , every detail that's shaped who she is now, i know all of it.

The person i was facing now was not Eli not even a mere reflection of her, *ring ring* school had just ended. Eli and i walked over to our lockers and waved goodbye to the others,

"Hey Eli, are you okay" i asked Eli in great distress to get an answer from her ,

"yeah i'm okay, why wouldn't i be " Eli responded as if to clear any thoughts i had of otherwise and she even added a little smile to go along with it .

" i was just wondering since you don't seem like yourself "i added on as i spoke to force an answer out of her .

"You sure seem to know a lot about my life , don't you Ana!" Eli had replied as if she was screaming at me, telling me to back off. "What?" i Shockley replied , not believing what i had heard from Eli.

"Sorry" i said , i was confused and didn't understand what was going on ," never mind that, go on ahead and walk by yourself , i-i have a few things to work on after school, ill meet you up after okay " Eli quickly said then walked away.

I quickly walked away , walking home just wondering what in the world had just happened! . i was walking so fast i didn't even realize my feet had lead me to the entrance of the woods.

As i stopped myself i quickly turned around and began to walk away

As i slowly walked away , i suddenly got that feeling , the chills and that stalker sensation.

Running as fast as i could from the woods i caught myself halfway to my house.

5:00 AM

I decided to tell Eli what had been going on , i just felt that telling Eli was the right thing to do

So i walked over to her house and rang the bell " oh hey Ana "Elizabeth's mom said while grinning at me . " hello, is Elizabeth her ?" i asked Elizabeth's mom while waiting for a response,

"No, she isn't, she actually called a few minutes ago to tell me she would be staying at a friends house and to pick her up later ".Eli's mom said while still smiling at me and patiently waiting for me to say something , she then spoke and said " do you want me to relay a message to her "

" um mm.... No , i was just stopping bye , thanks anyways" i cheerfully said to not show this sense of sadness i felt inside .

Eli hadn't mentioned she was staying at a friends house and if she did , she would have let me know.

But she didn't, her mother knew before i did and for the first time i felt lost and lonely.  

*Friday*

After that incident with eli ,things seemed to change for us , we just casually talk and

Hardly seem to hang out .as always she seems to be too busy to be with me .

As i was walking by elizabeth's locker i stopped to just say hi to her

" hey" i shouted at her like i always would then suddenly she turned around and took a glance at me before she said " hey Ana " .

School was already over so i was planning to tell eli to hang out with me during the weekend but eli walked away before i could even get a word out .and just like that once again we walked different paths.

*saturday*

It was already saturday and jade had asked me to go watch this new movie that had just gotten out , knowing i had no other plans i agreed to go .

And so i did my hair , chose an outfit and kissed my mom goodbye as i walked quickly out the door before my parents could ask me any questions.

"Hey girl, let's go before we're late" jade told me as we got in the car and drove to the theatres.

We had gotten there on time luckily

The movie had finally finished and it seemed like jade had gotten a text and looked so excited about it " hey there's going to be a party at steve's , want to come ?" she asked me as she smiled and hoped i would go .

'"no, i'm good thanks for the invite "i gently said so that she wouldn't hope i would change my mind.

Jade looked at her phone then at me , she seemed so distressed so i asked her "what's wrong?".

Jade just looked at me and replied " you see they need plastic cups and it's an emergency right now ". i had already understood what jade was trying to say so i quickly confidently told jade i would just walk home.

"are you sure?" jade asked again to assure what i was saying.

'Yes i'm sure " i said as i looked at jade and waved goodbye as she drived away and just as she drove away it began to drip water from the sky.

'Great just my luck' i sarcastically thought as i walked .

Although it was creepy walking through the woods ,especially since it was noon and dark from the clouds , i decided that if i wanted to get home earlier and not as drenched i would have to go through the woods.

I was just casually listening to some music when i came across a shadow

A man in a black suit across the distance

Then there was a women a girl with long beautiful black hair and when she turned around.

When she turned around i saw her , Elizabeth! ,Elizabeth was standing in front of the man in the black suit.

She laid her head on him , looked up at his eyes and just like a bloody kiss , she touched his pale lips with her red lips.

Smearing her drenched blood on his , ' what do i do ?' do i call out to her , do i stand there and watch or

*thump thump* my heart was beating so fast , my breathing had rapidly taken a faster pace and i couldn't stop running , i ran as fast as i could.

Just hoping they hadn't heard me , hoping that elizabeth had not seen me.

Getting home was the easy part but forgetting was the hardest .

Just who was that man in the black suit and just what was elizabeth doing with him.

Why were they in the woods embracing as the rain poured and shadows emerged.

The shadow that had seen something that was not meant to have been seen.
