SWEET AND SOUR
Slamming her locker shut, Jordan imagines exactly how her first period would have went. It could have ran smoothly, like a peace of cake. But knowing Bellas wild misfortunes, it went exactly opposite. Not because of her clumsiness, nor was it her stuttering. She didn't feel close to embarrassed at all.Stefan Salvatore stood at his locker, his back muscles prominent through his shirt as he tensed. He was almost mad at himself, angry. Though he had no right to be. There was another Mikaelson in town. Another Mikaelson he has to deal with. Another one he had to kill.
Bella sighs as she turns, watching her fellow peers walk by, chatting their mouths off at the latest gossip of today. Her.
"Hey." Jumping off her locker, Bella curses, looking up to see Stefan. She freezes for a second, her eyes grazing over slighty before standing up straight.
"Hello." Her words have no emotion and Stefan notices, making his suspicions grow and his tense body returns again.
Bella notices his stance and she frowns in confusion. "You okay there?" Her question coming out to thin air and the awkwardness intensified. Stefan's eyes never leave her face and she steps back.
He's been staring all throughout class.
Feeling her patience start to thin, she turns and walks away. Leaving Stefan more suspicious than ever.
Feeling her boots slam against the ground, Bella keeps her head low as she walks towards the front doors, muttering "excuse me," and "sorry," as people push and shove.
Making it passed the front doors, Bella begins walking faster, hoping to leave school and the people behind. But her misfortunes find her again.
Bella was has skipped school before. It was nothing new.
But what was knew if going to school and leaving halfway through.
As she walks away from the misery that is Mystic Falls High, she feels pride forming in her chest, knowing her uncle would be proud.
Halfway through her laughter, her smile fades along with her walking as she comes to a realisation.
He wasn't her uncle.
Bella feels her lips twitch as she shakes her head, heaving out a sigh to get rid of the feeling it brought to her chest.
"Bella!"
Bella closes her eyes and heaves out a sigh. He was the only person she truly wanted to avoid.
The day had just started and she has rounded secrets and feelings that were not to be shared with anyone at her school.
She felt foreign to the world of high school. This wasn't her life. It never should have come down to this. But here Bella is, standing in the middle of the parking lot with a boy standing in front of her.
That boy being Matthew Donovan.
He was sad at the fact that a girl so beautiful and kind could be the one thing he hated most in this world. But he wanted to make sure. He wanted to make sure they were wrong. That the kindness Bella showed him was real.
Turning around, Bella makes eye contact with him for what felt like the first time. And it was exactly like the first time. She felt the air get knocked out of her. She felt the blood rushing through her veins. She felt her breathe stop and fingers twitch. She was hypnotized for the second time.
And the feeling was mutual.
Matt was angry. He was angry at the fact that all his friends are telling him to stay away from her. That she was dangerous.
But looking at her now, experiencing what he did, he didn't believe a damn thing.
"Do you want to grab a coffee with me?"
Matt's heart stopped at the sound of her laugh and they both smiled. The tension leaving them along with the wind.
"I could use a burger right now."
Matt smiles down at her as she turns to walk when he hears his name being called.
Bella freezes at the sound. Feeling her muscles tighten once again. Standing up straight she feels Matt walk away and she turns her head slighty.
She meets the eyes of the famous Elena Gilbert. The woman who miraculously looks like the person her uncle has been trying to find for ages.
Feeling her wary stare, she turns back around and decides to walk away.
Away from her.
"Wait, Bella!-"
"Matt, no-" Elena pulls him back and shakes him. "You have no idea what you're getting yourself into."
Away from Matt.
"Like what you got yourself into when you decided to date Stefan?" Matt stares at her calmly but his voice telling a completely different story.
"Matt, I just want to keep you safe." Elena pleads, looking past him to Bella, the girl they knew nothing about. She shakes her head looking back at Matt, her best friend.
Away from school.
Looking down at Elena, he nods his head, moving his arm away. He looks into Elena's eyes once and frowns.
"And I just wanted to keep Vicki safe."
Away from the damn supernatural nonsense.
I know it's shorter than usual but I just couldn't wait to get this out.
