Slamming the door shut, Bella walked towards an empty booth and sat with a scowl. No words can describe how she felt at the moment. She was hurt, angry, and hurt.
She didn't know what she expected when she arrived in Mystic Falls with her mother. She knew very well they were there on business. Yet here she sat at the local grill, hoping everyone was kidding, to have them jumping out surprising her. Them apologizing for being so cruel to her and it was all a big joke. She wanted Matt to comfort her when she starts laughing and crying at the same time.
But none of it came to be. She was still alone in Mystic Grill with a waiter approaching her. It started to make her think at least she was unknown to the world.
She sighs, sitting up when the waiter arrives, smiling slightly. In the back of her mind, sadness crept up to her, Matt flashing through. She knew it wasn't safe for either of them to see each other, let alone feel something for one another. It was dangerous for him.
"Welcome to the Grill, my name is Jeremy," glancing up from his notepad with a small smile on his face, "and I will be your server today?"
Bella can't help but chuckle along with her waiter, Jeremy, as she stares up at him in confusion. "Are you asking me or telling me?"
Scratching his neck, Jeremy shrugs, looking behind him, "Sorry, I really wasn't expecting you to be someone I don't know."
Eyes widening slightly, Bella's shoulders drop, the events before flooding back to her as she turns slightly, "No, it's okay, I was just leaving-"
"Jeremy, what a lovely surprise." Both bodies stiffen at the new voice, turning their heads slightly, their eyes widening.
Jeremy takes a step back, putting his hand in front of Bella as she stands, her eyes locked on the man in front of her.
"Klaus."
"You know him?" Squinting her eyes at Jeremy, Bella turns her eyes to her uncle.
Faltering slightly, Bella looks around the room at the mass of people surrounding them, breathing out a sigh.
As the both of them falter at his presence, Klaus stands there smirking, his eyes never leaving Jeremy's. No matter how much he wanted to see if Bella was okay, he had to get what he came here for.
And he always gets what he wants.
Bella looks at Klaus in confusion as she catches his stare, glancing up at Jeremy.
What could he possibly want from a human?
Bella's eyes widen at the thought before her mind goes haywire at the possibilities. Now that she knew of the supernatural world, she needed to open her eyes when it came to people. She couldn't try to be friendly with anyone anymore.
Mystic Falls was littered with vampires, werewolves, witches, and none of them were on her side.
Taking a cautious step away from both of them, Bella shakes her head at Klaus. Her mother had told her the stories of the great beast. She knew what kind of treacherous man he really was, no matter how much she wanted to love him.
"Klaus, don't."
Klaus pulls his lips back in anger when Jeremy breaks there stare to look down at the girl next to him, "Don't talk to him, he's dangerous."
Klaus chuckles, taking away their attention as his eyes catch movement next to him and he hears a gasp.
"Dad."
Bella looks up to see the man before her. He hadn't been home in days. Dropping his truck off to take another. He had promised he'd come back and here he was before her, with his first hand man.
Alonzo Celius stood before them with a scowl on his face. His dress suit too small for his arms as it restraints them. Alonzo was a man of many things, a lot of things Bella didn't know about him. He always said in due time it was going to be her in this position, with secrets to keep and promises to make or break.
Jeremy watches the interaction, feeling less and less trustful of the girl next to him. Looking in at her eyes as they follow back and forth between Klaus and her father, he removes his hand from her, shaking his head in rage.
