Duncan entered the hallway of his old school. Having just gotten released from Juvie, he had been out of his school for an entire school year. People didn't seem thrilled to see him, one guy even looked at him, his mouth wide open, then ran. There were some new kids in the school, but they'd learn to fear him too in time. Duncan smirked a bit to himself. He still had it. He liked it better when people were afraid of him; that meant they didn't bother him. He strode down the hallway to his locker, and opened it, throwing his bag in. Upon closing his locker, he saw a petite blonde girl crouching in front of the locker next to him. Her hair was impractically long and a bright blonde color (Most likely bleached), and in her crouching position, the very tips of it brushed against the floor. Her eyes were downcast and she wore gray and green jeggings and a black t-shirt with black arm-warmers. She brushed her long bangs behind her ear, pulling a book from her locker and placing it on her lap. He was a little surprised to see her there, since he didn't hear her open her locker. Maybe she was there before he got there. Either way she was quiet.
She glanced up at him and tilted her head a little. “Um.. hi?” Duncan shrugged and leaned against his locker, turning to look away at the people passing by. The blonde went back to grabbing her books, only to drop one as she stood up. As she leaned down, she was beat to it by Duncan, who grabbed it for her.
“Here.” He said simply, still sounding angry, as he always did.
“Oh... um... thanks...?” She reached out for it and he shoved it into her arms, then turned and walked away. She watched after him and tilted her head to the side a little bit confused to say the least. She let out a sigh. He was one of those bad boy wannabe types as far as she was concerned. She rolled her eyes and went on with her day as usual. She didn't want to make waves or call attention to herself. All the attention she'd gotten in her old school was negative and she didn't want to deal with any of that here. It was sickening to her how students got singled out for bullying. She'd only been here just under a year and she already had a reputation for being invisible; just how she wanted it. She shook her head to release herself from her trance she'd gotten herself into. She found herself outside. It was lunchtime and she looked around, tensing up as the loud rumbling of a senior's pickup truck starting broke the quiet of the parking lot. Looked like the senior boys were going off school grounds for lunch again. The boy in the drivers seat revved his engine louder as they passed her.
She merely scowled and fixed her hair, looking into her pocket for her wallet, only to find it missing. “What?” She checked her other pockets frantically. “Don't tell me I got ripped off...” She growled and sighed. “There goes lunch....” She heard the sound of an argument around the corner where the tennis court was. She perked up and looked in that direction, curious. She could hear a male and a female voice.
“Just get off my case! It's none of your fuckin' business so butt the hell out, Jessica!” The boy's voice growled loudly at the other party.
“I'm just asking! There's no need to freak out at me!” The girl's voice replied. The blonde knew this girl. She was in several classes with her. A star cheerleader type.
“Don't even start with me princess! Whatever happened in juvie was none of your damn business! Not like I matter anymore. I've heard all the stories already, girly. How many guys was it?” There was a short silence before the male broke it with a noise. “Pfft.. Fuck off. I'm out.”
“Duncan! I didn't... I was drinking!”
“Whatever.” She could hear his footsteps approaching and she acted casually. He turned the corner and nearly walked into her. “You listenin' in on my conversation, blondie?” He glared angrily at her. She shook her head.
“N-no.. why would I? I don't even know you..” She blurted out suddenly. The girl stormed past him and slammed her shoulder into him; to which he barely flinched. He watched her walk away and the blonde could have sworn she saw a glint of sadness in the punker's face before he turned back to her, the annoyance returning to his blue eyes.
“What are you still doing here? Scram, blondie.” She jutted out her bottom lip in a stubborn and defiant manner.
“My name is Beck.” She said quietly, her voice gaining an angry tone to it.
“Like I care, blondie.” He grumbled back to her. “Like I said. Scram.” He waved his hand in the air to solidify his stance on the matter of her being there.
“Sorry...” She turned on her heel and he got a good look at her hair as she spun and it whipped around her body. It was the girl from before. He was a little surprised that it took this long to hit him.
“Oh you're that chick from earlier. Your locker is next to mine.” She glanced back at him and nodded.
“Yeah... what of it?”
“Just pointing it out, blondie. Chill your tits.”
“My tits are plenty chill... not like my boobs are any business of yours...”
“Ohh a snippy one.”
“Just leave me alone and I'll leave you alone... got it?” He smirked a bit. That sounded like a challenge. He was never one to turn down a challenge. Especially one presented by a girl.
“Oh? And what if I don't want to leave you alone princess?” She turned the rest of her body and folded her arms, looking him over.
“And why wouldn't you? I'm just trying to keep to myself here. It's not like I'm trying to get in your way or anything..” He stared at her for a moment.
“Heh. Well you've gotten yourself in my way.” The conversation went to a somewhat awkward stand still. Beck turned again to leave without another word. He spoke to her turned back once again. “Hey. Missing something, blondie?” She raised an eyebrow then spun towards him again.
“Give it back. Now.” She lowered her eyes at him.
“Oh? And why would I? If you haven't noticed, I'm a bit of a delinquent, you know.” She rolled her eyes in response. “Just got released from juvie.”
“I just want my damned wallet, bad boy, not your life story... I'd like to eat today.”
“What are you gonna do about it? You gonna run and tell on me?” He teased, she couldn't possibly stand a chance against him; not that she was even brave enough to try to get it herself, and telling a teacher was the pussy's way out. If she did that, he'd lose all potential respect for her. “Or you gonna come get it yourself?”
“Don't patronize me, bad boy..” She growled. He smirked. Beck bit her lip and looked him over, he chuckled in response to the glare. As he did so, she dropped her bag and ran at him, fully intending to wrestle it out of his hands. Knocking him to the concrete was the easy part but he was putting up a fight and with her being as short as she was, her arm length wasn't enough for her to reach it when he held it away from her.
As Beck straddled him, he held the wallet far above his head. “Oh you're feisty. Surprised you actually tackled me.” She growled and kept reaching for her property. One of his hands rested on her shoulder, holding her away from it.
“Just give it back!” She yelled. Her chest was almost in his face, and he smirked a little. Hey, he was still a teenage boy after all. Duncan pushed her further away from him then took the chance to take a look at her face. She had bright blue eyes, not as light as his own, but they seemed brighter thanks to the dark makeup that outlined them. Her lips were pink with two holes right beneath her bottom lip. He stared at them for just a moment.
“Wait wait wait.. stop for a second.” She froze and looked down at him.
“What.” She snapped at him angrily and jutted her lip out again.
“Stop making that weird face.” He demanded, grabbing her chin with his free hand. Her face softened a little and her eyebrows shot up in surprise as he grasped her face gently. “Heh. Snakebites. Well well well.” Beck rushed to cover her mouth, and got off of him. He merely chuckled and tossed her wallet at her. It bounced off her stomach and onto the ground. “Nice Catch, blondie.” Her eyes were locked on him, opened wide in shock. After a few moment, Duncan's smirk faded. “What?”
