Gratsu

So while I was writing my Mating Season book I thought about writing some angst because I can't control myself, and then I remembered that Gray had already accepted Natsu as his mate. Well, I can't help myself so this is my way of being dark.

     Natsu growled as he rolled over in bed. He looked at the clock and shot out of bed, "Happy wake up!" The small blue cat crawled out from under the covers, "Natsu what are you in such a rush for?" He yawned and stretched, Natsu was already dressed and grabbing a bag that he packed for a mission, "I'm going on a mission with Gajeel, Laxus, Sting and Rouge, you are going to stay at Wendy's house with Charlie and Lily." Natsu threw his bag over his shoulder, and started to walk out of his house, pulling his father's scarf a little tighter around his neck. 'It started yesterday, I wish i had more time to prepare' He thought to himself as he started walking to the guild, Happy flying next to him, "You've been acting weird lately, is everything ok?" Natsu nodded, "Yeah everything is fine, Buddy." Natsu didn't look up from the road, he closed up his vest. Happy flew in a little closer, "Are you sure? You know the bed got really cold last night, it was really strange, like Gray cast a spell or something." Natsu rubbed his chest, the pain had gotten worse the closer he got to the ice mage in question, walking into the guild was going to be torture, the smell of peppermint. "Hey Natsu, are you paying attention?" Natsu shook his head and looked around, the guild was a few blocks away, "Yeah, what is it?" Happy flew ahead to Wendy and Charlie, Natsu ran to catch up. "Hey Wendy, thanks for watching Happy this week," He paused and sniffed the air, "Are you wearing a new perfume?" Wendy shook her head, "No, i've started to smell sweet apparently, Gajeel and Laxus asked the same thing. Next year might be my start." Natsu gave her a sympathetic look, "Well, Gajeel and I are gonna be there for you, knowing Gajeel he'll have Levy by then, so i'll be there to lock you up in the basement." Wendy looked at Natsu in fear, he busted out laughing, "I'm kidding, i won't lock you up unless you need it." Charlie flew in front of Wendy protectively, "You will not take her anywhere." Wendy smiled, "Calm down Charlie, I'll explain his joke later. You should go meet up with Gajeel and Laxus and head out, i think they are having a hard time explaining why Gray can't go though." Natsu went pale. No way Gray is going with him. Not now. The pain had already gotten worse just being next to the guild, close to Gray, and he was cold. "I swear by the end of the week I'm going to have frost bite," Natsu mumbled, Wendy sighed. Levy walked up to them, smiling, "Hey Natsu, hey Wendy. What are you guys up to?" She smelled like a metallic library, Gajeel had already marked her. The smell made Natsu a little on edge. Wendy answered for the both of them, "I'm watching Happy while Natsu and the other slayers go on a mission for the next two weeks or so." Levy's smile wavered, "Gajeel is going with you? Oh... Well I'll go on a mission with Jet and Droy I guess." She said the last line mostly to herself, Wendy and Natsu exchanged looks, the emotional links were starting to form, Natsu needed to get out of this town with Gajeel and Laxus quickly. Natsu smiled and said goodbye to the other two, then ran into the guild, and when right to the table with Gajeel and Laxus. Gajeel had his head on the table, his sent was strong, it almost made Natsu stumble, but he had somewhat of an appearance to keep up. He sat down next to Gajeel, who groaned and ate a piece of iron. "How can you move normally?" Laxus was leaning back in his chair, sipping on his drink, "Really powerful painkillers, and a mate that adores me." Gajeel groaned, that seemed to be the only thing he could do, other then munching on the fork he had next to him. "Well aren't you lucky," Natsu tried to lean back, but his chest hurt to much. If he stayed in this guild too much longer, he would probably end up like Gajeel. "Everything here smells like her. It's like she's right next to me at all times." Laxus raised an eyebrow, "Wow that was the first thing he's said all day." Natsu looked at the paper in the middle of the table, "What thing did you make up this year?" He picked up the paper and started reading, "Some monster terrorizing a village that's a least a three day trip away. Smart." Natsu put the paper down, "So who's giving this to Mira?" Laxus glanced at Gajeel, who had managed to sit up. "Smells like a damn library in here," Gajeel bit off another part of the fork. "Well yeah, she's a script mage." Gajeel glared at him. Natsu looked over at the bar, Mira was back there giving out drinks. Gray was sitting at the bar too, halfway done with a glass of water. Natsu turned back to the table, "I can't go give it to her, Laxus you do it." Laxus shrugged, "Alright yeah, but Gray might try to come along too, he asked about it when I faked grabbing it off of the board." Natsu fidgeted and looked back at Gray, Juvia was at his side, trying to get closer to him. "Alright, i'll go give it to her, you both be ready to go when I get back." Laxus flinched as he got up, and slowly made his way to the bar. "So," Gajeel paused, inhailing sharply, "What do you think Laxus smells?" Natsu cracked a smile, "Hairspray." Gajeel almost laughed out loud. Laxus growled from across the guild, "No! It's some kind of fruit! I haven't figured it out yet." Natsu laughed, nobody else in the guild had any idea what they were talking about. "What are you laughing at Fire Queen?" Natsu flinched, his arms got cold, he gulped, Gray's voice, "Nothing Snowflake." Natsu mentally cursed himself for the nickname. Gajeel managed to stand up, leaning on the pole behind him. Gray got up and glared at Natsu, "What was that? You wanna go?" Natsu got paler if it was even possible and he shook his head, making him a little dizzy. Juvia stood up and hugged Gray, "Gray-sama, Juvia thinks you should just sit back down, that piece of bubblegum over there isn't worth getting hurt over." Natsu looked away. Rejection. Deadly to the dragons around this time of the year. For the slayers, it could drive them off of a cliff. Literally. The entire guild was silent. Gray pushed Juvia off of himself and walked up to Natsu, "Hey, you ok?" He put a hand on the dragon slayers shoulder, "You're freezing!" Gajeel was up and had his backpack on. "Laxus!" Natsu's voice cracked, Laxus grabbed the paper from Mira, and Gajeel was already walking out of the door. Natsu started to walk away, but Gray grabbed his wrist. Frostbite started to appear under Gray's hand. Laxus walked up behind Gray and pulled him away from Natsu. Natsu ran out of the guild, holding his shoulder. "Hey Gray, stay away from Natsu for a while... It's something you wouldn't understand," Laxus said as he walked out of the guild.
