Elizabeth

Dear... 'whoever I shall be writing to...,'

... something's off. Very off. And it has to do with a certain short blonde.

Today is the day Alexander and I have planned for Lil' to bounce back from whatever has been bringing her down for the past few weeks. He says that Lil' loves ice cream: check. And since they both love movies: also check.

But... there's something else there. Something more than a little trinket or event that would bother Lil'. She's the most positive and undeniably cheerful person you'd ever meet. And yes, she's easily brought down (Alexander informed me of that, too), but she usually jumps right back up again.

... I certainly hope it's not because of me.

I couldn't do something like that... to anyone. Especially her.

"Heart, stop racing. Let's face it: making mistakes like this will make worse what was already pretty bad."

Lil' seemed lost in thought as she sung the words quietly. Elizabeth kept her bright blue eyes on Alexander and her hand in his, but every now and then, she'd take a peek at the other girl. Lil' had seemingly isolated herself by getting attached to her phone and wasn't socializing, and if Elizabeth was going to get close to Alexander, she'd also need to be friends with Lil' as well.

That wasn't going to happen if Lilac didn't allow it.

Taking a deep breath, she placed her fingers on the very edge of Lil's phone and gently pushed it downwards to catch her attention. "... Lil', put down your phone."

Lil' sent Elizabeth a nervous smile as she stuffed her phone and earbuds away, looking exactly as if she had just been caught by a teacher. "Sorry."

But even then, Lil' wasn't paying attention to anything.

Time to figure out what was on her mind and why is was bothering her so much.

What to say? What to say...?

"Lil'... What are you thinking about?"

Nice going, Elizabeth. You are the world's number one conversationalist.

Luckily, Elizabeth did receive and answer. "What to do with the rest of my life, I guess... I haven't thought of what career I'm going to take up yet."

... Wait. What?

Elizabeth's eyes widened at the words. Was Lil' procrastinating about this? "You're almost done with high school and you haven't thought about that...?" Heck, Elizabeth's life wasn't planned out all the way either, but most kids at least had an idea of what they were going to do with the time they were given. "What about college and the classes you're going to take up?"
