Number Two was being led through the white hall, the blinding lights shining right in her neon green eyes. Her white dress was down to her knees and was the plainest it could get, but Number Two had never worn anything different.
Finally, the two guards clad in black, Dr. Cresswell, and Number Two had finally reached the common room where her older brother, Number One, was waiting. She went inside with the guards as Dr. Cresswell went to the left to the observing room.
"One!! I missed you!" Two exclaimed, running to her "brother". Number One smiled and hugged Two. He had messy dark brown hair and violet eyes. Yeah, violet. Just another genetic experiment the scientists decided to do.
"Miss you too, Two! Heh. Too two." he muttered, looking off into space with a grin. Two punched him in the arm. "Shut up." she commanded with a light chuckle.
"How's your ability going?" One asked, both sitting on the floor. Two smiled at the question. "I've been able to walk through Dr. Cresswell and a few of the guards! You?"
He explained that his antigravity was getting better, and set an example by levitating his sister and spinning her around. She laughed and was set back down.
Soon another door opened and a little girl with blonde hair and crystal blue eyes dashed to the two.
"Three!" they said happily. Number Three was the longest, and adored the game hide'n'seek. She could turn herself invisible so obviously she excelled at the game.
Three smiled and sat next to Two gently.
They discussed their ability strength and several happenings, and Two and Three played hand-clap games with giggles and grins.
"Alright children. I have to tell you something. Number One is being terminated. His ability has not increased over the past months and is no longer useable. Say your goodbyes." Doctor Cresswell said. Dread settled over One's face.
Three began to cry when guards came to drag One away.
"NO!" she yelled, tears cascading from her eyes. She ran for One but guards grabbed her arms and held her against her struggles.
Two was silent in shock. Tears fell as she watched Dr. Cresswell smack Three to make her shut up. He turned to lead Two away back to her room and she stood in silence.
"Why will Number One be terminated? He has done nothing wrong." she inquired.
"He has not improved in his antigravity over the past two months. You have developed the ability to pass through people. That is an improvement. Number Three has been able to turn specific parts of her body invisible. That is an improvement. Number One has only been able to levitate himself. Not other things." he said in a simple tone.
"But he levitated me in the Common Room!" Two pointed out, as she knew he was watching.
"I'm aware."
"But why?!"
"Because he is no longer useful. Now go to your room." he commanded, practically pushing her into the white room.
She sat on her bed and began to weep for her brother. Dr. Cresswell was changing. She could see that, and it definitely wasn't for the better.
