Chapter 3

Caila's P.O.V.

I woke up the next morning not wanting to be awake. I rolled over to see everyone staring at me. "Was I sleep talking or something?" I said sitting up. They laughed. "The doctor will be in here in a few minutes to discuss some stuff with you then your free to go." I smiled. "Good, I'm ready to be home." I said looking out the window. I swung my legs over the bed, & started standing up. Everyone jumped up, & I laughed at them. "I'm not as sore today, so I think i'll be fine." I walked over to my bag & pulled out some leggings & a long sleeve shirt, grabbing up my toothbrush & toothpaste as well. I went into the bathroom, changed clothes & brushed my teeth. When I came out, the doctor & my dad were talking.

He turned to me & smiled. "I'm glad to see you up. How are you feeling?" He asked me. I tossed my pajama's into my bag. "Much better! I'm just ready to go home." I told him. "Well there are things I would still like to discuss with you." I nodded & sat on the bed next to Jasper, he grabbed my hand giving it a light squeeze. "Most importantly, your heart." He said staring at me. I gripped jaspers hand tighter. "It was stable all night long, but I would like you to have it checked at least twice a day. Which Carlisle here will handle." I nodded. "I am prescribing you some breathing treatments for your breathing troubles & a cream for the rash if it ever comes back. Remember if the rash appears, more than likely you are having a flare up & you need to tell someone immediately." "Lastly, your knees seem to be what's giving you the most troubles. I'm giving you two knee braces, & some painkillers." I nodded & he handed me two boxes. I took them noticing they were the braces. "If your knees are sore at all go ahead & slip those on." I nodded & opened one box. I pulled it out & noticed it was one I just slipped on. I slid my foot through & slid it up my leg until my knee cap sat snuggly in the small hole. I did the same with my other leg.

I stood up & smiled. "Well they definitely help." Everyone smiled. "Then your free to go." He smiled at me. "I'll go get the car!" Dad said walking out. I grabbed some socks & my nike's, sliding them on & lacing them up as everyone made sure we had everything. As soon as my shoes were on I stood up, grabbing my bag from Jasper & walking out with a spring in my step. As soon as we got downstairs, I dashed for the car as the trunk popped open. I tossed my bag in before opening the rear driver side door & hopping in. Dad started the car & mom turned around. "When we get home, how about you go take a shower & i'll make you some lunch. Sound good?" I nodded. "We will check your heart before you go to sleep tonight alright?" I nodded. "I've missed you guys, & after last night I just want you guys to know I love you." My mom reached back & grabbed my hand. "We love you to sweetie, so much!" She told me. The rest of the ride flew by in a comfortable silence. As we pulled up to the house I noticed everyone else beat us home.

I opened my door as dad sped to the trunk reaching in for my bag. I went to take it from him when he stopped me. "Go on in, I've got it." He kissed my head & shut the trunk. "Thank you daddy." I walked up to the front door, opening it & wandering into the living room everyone looked up & stared at me. Dad sped up to my room & back down next to me. There was now an awkwardness in the air. "Look, I know last night was scary." "More like terrifying." Rose interrupted. "Please do me a favor. Don't treat me like I'm going to drop dead any second." I said. "But that is a possibility." Alice pointed out. "I know, but I will not live my life in fear of it. I just won't do it. So please, don't let this affect how you guys see & treat me." I asked & everyone nodded. "Good, now I'm going to get a shower." I said before turning around & going up the stairs. As soon as I got up to my room I noticed some shorts sitting on my bed with a t-shirt, I smiled knowing Alice set them out.

I grabbed my clothes & went into my bathroom. Turning on the water I stripped down & got in once the water heated up. I washed my hair, body & face before cutting the water off & getting out. I dried off, put my clothes on & put my hair in a towel before going downstairs. It smelled really good, wandering into the kitchen I noticed my mom picking something up from out of the pan & setting it on a plate. "Hey, so your father suggested some foods good for your heart. So I grilled up some salmon, I cooked some asparagus, & managed to make some brussel sprouts." I smiled. "It looks & smells delicious. Thanks mom!" She slid the plate in front of me. I grabbed my fork & knife digging in. She slid a glass of water in front of me just as Emmett came in. "What stinks?!" He said. Looking at my plate he realized. "Are those Brussel Sprouts? Nasty!" He said looking at my plate still. "Your a vampire, everything is nasty to you!" I said & he shrugged. "You right though." He said. I laughed & finished my food after awhile. I got up & washed my plate before putting it in the dish drainer to dry.
